  1. chaapanda Says:

Wow. I was really shocked with this, but then again, I wasn't. A lot of guys in the rap industry degrade women and do lude things to them. It's really sickening. The girl could have looked like she was laughing and maybe she was, but have you ever wondered if that laughter might have been fake? That girl probably didn't want to seem like a coward infront of all of those people. Think of how embarassing for her it would have been if she would have bursted into full fledged tears, letting her true emotions show. As for the Father, I'm sure he didn't even know that she was wearing such clothing. A LOT of teenagers leave the house dressed in normal looking t-shirts and jeans, but when they get out with their friends, blam, they pull a different outfit from their bag and throw it on. I know a lot of girls that do those things. What happened was probably this, all the girl wanted to do was probably try to fit in with everyone else, but she got more than she bargained for. Akon should be sued for what he did. Who knows how many other girls out there he mistreated.

  2. Doris Says:

Pastor Alleyne and his wife are typical overbearing religous parents who overpreach the Bible to their children. So their children rebel by becoming exactly what the church condemns. Their daughter probably has snuck into clubs in the past and was caught this time on tape with Akon performing pornigraphic acts on stage.

As for Akon and other individuals, I think they take advantage of those who are weak enough to let them. Women need to stand up against the music industry and say enough is enough. As Maya Angelou said "Vulgarity is vulgarity."

  3. Neeky Says:

First of all let me start by saying that I'm not going to set here and down a precher for being upset about his daughter. But what he has to understand is that his daughter is no victum. She knew what she was doing . She had every opportunity to say stop and she didn't. Akon was puting on a show for his fans that's all. He didn't take her to a room, He didn't undress her, but let's be real how was he to know how old she was. The club shouldn't have let her in the club in the first place. Put the blame where it belongs.

  4. Neeky Says:

People, Stop blaming the artist for these women. Women need to respect them selves no one can do it for them. Stop blaming these guys, stop saying they take advantage of wormen. Point blank if your old enough to know better it falls on you. These artist will do only as much as we allow them. And futher more they are trying to put on a show for their audience, which means they will do what they have to do.

  5. Kim Roberts Says:

I understand that akon is retared but the girl should have had her ass at home and not in a 18 year old or older club. People should not come down so hard on the hip hop industry how ever. Has any one seen white girls gone wild with the soccer mom encouraging her daughter to show off her new boobs. Slut

  6. Randi Says:

Ok, neeky you have a point but that still doesn't mean he can go around doing that to random woman, regardless of if he knew her age or not. I think chaapanda was the most accurate here and I agree with her. How do you know she was just fakeing it and pretending to enjoy it and maybe deep down she wanted him to stop. Maybe she was too overwhelmed to say anything.

  7. becca Says:

this is disguting! i used to think that akon was the only good rapper out there, but he really let me down! ya that girl shouldn't have been there but it is just gross what he did!

  8. Mark Says:

That's disgusting no matter how old the girl is. Is that what being an artist is about these days? I am disgusted from that video and I am a man. Why do people enjoy seeing that on stage, I'm out raged. Stop blamming the artist? Akon totally went over board on the whole thing and he should get in trouble. I would be Embarrassed if I was him, and I bet Gwen is pretty ticked. I'm totally sick to my stomach with the way people portray themselves these days... the lyrics people sing, and the way people represent themselves and others... this makes me sick to my stomach, what is the world coming to?

  9. Richie Says:

How da hell did she get in da club??? This is nothing new for Performers to av women on stage and dancing and shit. Leave a black man to survive, he did nothing wrong. what should he do, ask her her for her ID card?? I guess she only wanted to av sum fun!!!

  10. Jo Says:

that lil groupie got what she deserved.. her 15min of fame, yall need 2 get off akon's back, he didnt know how old she was at the time.. point ur anger on her damn parents for allowing her to dress like hochie n sneeking into adult clubs..ive seen the full video she volunteered 2 come on stage and she was smiling the whole time and high five's the crowd

  11. dani Says:

What I want to know, is how this act had anything to do with the music he was supposed to be singing! I have been to concerts before, and no not to Akons, but have never seen any musician carry on like this.

  12. Michael Says:

Firstly I am, just like many disturbed by what I saw. There are two problems that I see here. Akon to get to the level of celebrity and success he has, has obviously disregarded any sense of moral decency. His fame has allowed him to do what he has liked and up until now he has gotten away with it. The public - both men and women have allowed him to push the boudaries of what is acceptable.

Secondly, and several posts have touched on this subject loosely..No matter how much she DOES NOT deserve this, and how unfortunate and degrading it may be for her, the blame lies equally with her as well.

Yes, she may not have known what was about to happen when she stepped on that stage..but it is a case of self respect and dignity. Doing what she did and go into the club at her age - dressed like that - she must know the attention she could create for herself.

I am sorry chaapanda but everybody has to take responsibility for their actions...Akon did not force her to go to the club or put on that "I want to act like a skank outfit". This girl, going on stage obviosly must have assumed she was going to skank dance with him...why else would a good looking female go on stage with him? If Akon anted to hang out with a fan, he could have chosen a bloke to go up there. Guy's may create opportunities (in the form of venues like this or in a music video) for girls to devalue themselves, but girls, you have the option. You can be strong and empowering, like we all know you can, or you can cry and continually say you are the victims - but don't try and have it both ways. Listen to the song "stupid Girls" by pink "what happened to the dream of a girl president, she's dancing in the video next to fifty cent"

Violence and abuse in any form is wrong, whether it occur on any gender, but in a case like this both people are to blame.

  13. natalia Says:

OMG. I CAN SO NOT BELIEVE THAT AKON DID THAT ...TO A 14 YEAR-OLD. AND HOW THE HECK DIDSHE EVEN GET ITO THAT CUB. I MEAN I USETO LOVE AKON B 4 BUT NOW HE JUST SEEMS TOTALLY DISCUSTING TO ME. AND LUCKY ME I HAD JUST GONE TO THE SWEET ESCAPE TOUR A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE AND I THOUGHT HE WAS AWESOME I WOULD OF NEVER THOUGHT HED DO THAT. SIRIOUSLY THIS $#!% IS BANANAS YALL. B-A-N-A-N-A-S! I PROMISE NEVER TO HEARTO HIS MUSIC AGAIN

  14. jamstan Says:

I think Akon's behaviour was pathetic and maybe he knew she was underaged. If the club's letting underaged kids in do you think they're going to admit it? Coincidence he picked her? There's a Santa Claus too. She did not resist it a bit. What a disgrace to her family.

  15. anon Says:

Maybe it's just me, but personally, I didn't hear the young lady laughing. It sounded more to me like she was in shock, kind of like it hurt or something. But definately not laughter. Regardless of what it was, this was the most vile thing I have seen in a LONG time. He looked like a wild animal on that stage dragging it's "mate" around and humping it. It was disgusting. I used to think he was OK...now, I think he is a piece of sh!t.

  16. kaitlynclement Says:

for all you people hating on akon, just stop. that dumb girl is the one who agreed to come onstage with him... people dance like that all the time. anyone seen mtv lately??? this is just being blown out of proportion, and unfortunately it cost the tour. thankfully i got to see one of the last performances he had with gwen in dallas on cinco de mayo, and its a shame cause he was an excellent performance. its not like akon knew that she was 14, did anyone see what she was wearing? not exactly what a preacher's daughter should be wearing... let alone the fact she is underage and somehow managed to find her way into the club.
although the dancing was raunchy i will admit, its just as much that girl's fault as his. you cant call that rape, there was NO INTERCOURSE! NO SEX! just plain old dirty dancin'. and she is the one who chose to go up on stage with him.

  17. DESHAMIR Says:

PPL SAY THEY DISGUSTED BY IT WHY U DANCE JUST LIKE THAT EVEN WORSE WHEN U GO TO DA CLUB N PARTY THAT GYRL IS FAST IM MAD AT THE FATHER FOR NOT KNOWIN WHERE HIS CHILD IS IN DA FIRST PLACE N DA CLUB NOT CHECKIN I.D. 18. DESHAMIR Says:

AND IT DONT MATTER WHAT ALL THE PPL SAYIN U WILL STILL LIKE HIS MUSIC NO MATTER WHAT

  19. BeBe Says:

Can't stand Akon. He is a part of the reason why hip hop gets such a bad rap in the press. Too many knuckleheads crossing the line.

  20. Melissa Says:

    Akon crossed the line, period.

Our society, and other cultures, still has hidden threads of misogyny, accepted sexual assault, and sexism.

No matter how a woman dresses, talks, or behaves, there is NO RIGHT to disrespect a person like that. You cannot excuse Akon's behavior because she "asked for it" or because she "went to the club". Regardless, we must be held accountable for our actions. We should not lower our standards because (1) he is a male and/or (2) he is a celebrity.

As a professional social worker, and a sexual assault survivor, I think we need to start giving responsibility to the aggressors and start supporting the survivors/victims of any type of violation, crime or assault...even if he or she wears a short skirt.

  21. Kym Says:
