Jenny McCarthy's Son Has Autism
Jenny McCarthy's 5-year-old son Evan has been diagnosed with autism. Jenny appeared on The View where she opened up on Evan's condition. She's writing a book about children with Autism called Louder Than Words due in September. Jenny said,
I just want moms ... who have children out there with autism ... to know that I am coming back in a few months with this book, and I am planning on using my big, giant, controversial mouth to blow the lid off a lot of things related to autism to give moms hope. It is so needed."

Good for her! I can't wait to read it! I worked at a clinic that treated children with autism and finally there is more attention being given to it.

I just hope it's also responsible, and not full of negative rhetoric that is so harmful to so many people. Her son looks lovely. I hope there is some balanced talk about real life with autism that dignifieds autistic people because my son, at five, is a wonderful autistic boy and I'm so proud of him. People need to learn how to embrace different kinds of people -- no pity, but a merging of help with respect.
