The Going Rate For Homophobia Is $500,000
A girl and her grandparents have sued the Chicago Board of Education, alleging that a teacher showed the R-rated film "Brokeback Mountain" in class.
The lawsuit claims that Jessica Turner, 12, suffered psychological distress after viewing the movie in her 8th grade class last year.
The film, which won three Oscars, depicts two cowboys who conceal their homosexual affair. Turner and her grandparents, Kenneth and LaVerne Richardson, are seeking around $500,000 in damages.
"It is very important to me that my children not be exposed to this," said Kenneth Richardson, Turner's guardian.
With Grandparents like these, you know this Jessica Turner ho is repressed. I can't wait til she announces she's a lesbian.

Jessica Turners grandparents probably told her she suffered psychological distress after telling them that she had watched that movie in school. Or Ms. Turner (Jessica) got caught doing something in her experimental years of finding herself sexually and her grandparents freaked out and blamed it on a somewhat educational movie about finding yourself and being happy with who you really are and how hard that can be growing up in this day and age.
There were plenty more things in "Brokedown Mountain" that made that movie Rated-R and not the so-called sex scene that showed less then Ben Stiller did in the bathroom scene in There's Something About Mary.
I really don't think that they would have made a big deal out of it if the teacher had played the movie Philadelphia with Tom Hanks who played a gay man with AIDS or even American Beauty which by the way is rated-R and there are high schools out there who have aired this movie for their students.
Let's face it, there are a ton o

There was nothing racy in Brokeback. It was only rated R because there was one scene where 2 dudes got it on, and that "sex scene" didn't last more than a minute. PLEASE! I see movies that are PG where straight folks get WAAAAAAAY more than 60 seconds of action. These old farts need to get a grip on reality. And when homegirl figures out she likes the fish taco, I'd be happy to show her the best places for eating out.

I hear you.
I really hope the Turner family spends a ton of money on legal fees and loses.

Please...People are so desperate for money. I think this is PATHETIC!!! If a lawsuit like this could even exist I will be shocked. Yes the movie is a little graphic but what if it was the accused they played or even the titanic( when she puts her hand on the window and slowly pulls it down that is pretty raunchy) this lawsuit would never exist!! How in this day and age we still are dealing with racisim and homophobia I will never understand!!
