"Sending him in not only endangers those around him - the effect of being kidnapped would be a blow to the entire UK."
Prince Harry is "very disappointed" but will not quit the army, Clarence House has said.
The decision was taken by the head of the Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt.
The move represents a U-turn by defence chiefs who said last month that the third-in-line to the throne would be joining troops in the Gulf.
The Prince, who is 22, was expected to be deployed with his Blues and Royals regiment in the coming weeks.

im sorry but wearing the uniform should mean living the uniform. i dont see why the prince should be held back whilst the rest of the lads out there risk their lives. he put the uniform on with them and he should live the uniform with them too.

I wonder what his family had to do to stop from him going to Iraq.

I really appreciate you posting this!
I heard the breaking news early this morning on TV. This was the right decision. Sending Harry to Iraq would endanger so many people.
