Sharon Stone put George Clooney on the auction block Wednesday for a good cause: AIDS research.
Clooney and his Ocean’s Thirteen co-stars Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia and Ellen Barkin made a brief appearance at the annual Cinema Against AIDS dinner, which raised a record $7 million for the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).
As Clooney and his castmates auctioned off a seven-day Mediterranean getaway on a private boat, Stone announced: “If you bid, one of these guys will come down and touch you. And you can choose which one.”
But the choice was clear. With flourish – and on stage – Clooney promptly kissed the lucky girlfriend of the winning bidder, who’d ponied up $350,000.
I dunno about you guys, but if I’m gonna whip out $350K to smooch George Clooney and get a trip on the mediterranean, he better be knocking me up, paying child support for the next 20 years and put me in a damn good home. Maybe I’m going a little over-board. At least throw in some tongue! I do think George is hot, but no kiss is worth that much money.
VH1’s documentary on Lisa ‘Left-Eye’ Lopes aired this past weekend. All video was shot by Lisa and her camp while on a 30 day spiritual retreat in Honduras. She really opened up about her childhood, what happened with TLC, her marriage to Andre Rison, etc. I didn’t realize they were taping when the actual accident happened until I saw it on the documentary. Even knowing the outcome, it’s still kinda shocking to watch.
Nicole Richie is denying she’s being treated for an eating disorder and substance abuse. “She is not in rehab,” the reality TV star’s rep told Usmagazine.com.
“She is at home in Glendale. Sobriety is an ongoing process, but she is sober.”
Richie is due in court June 8 for a pretrial hearing for her DUI arrest in December.
If she’s not in rehab than somebody should throw her ass in there! She looks like she should have string attached to her hands and feet and dangled around like a puppet. There’s no way with how tiny she is, that she could even have her period. Even if she did, I’m sure a Q-tip would hold her thru 3 days.
British actress Keira Knightley, star of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film trilogy, won 3,000 pounds ($5,965) in libel damages on Thursday over a newspaper slur that she was excessively thin.
The Daily Mail had run a story with a picture of her in a bikini, headlined: “If Pictures Like This One of Keira Carried a Health Warning, My Darling Daughter Might Have Lived”.
“The article could be interpreted to have asserted that the claimant bore personal responsibility for causing the tragic death of Sophie Mazurek, a 19-year-old, who battled with anorexia,” Knightley’s lawyer Simon Smith told the High Court.
The 22-year-old actress had been embarrassed by the “entirely false” and “deeply offensive” suggestions.
Doesn’t seem there’s anything set in stone on wether Isaiah Washington will be back on Grey’s Anatomy or not. Well, at least not according to Isaiah’s camp.
“He will not be back as a series regular,” a source close to ABC tells Us, noting that the embattled star, 43 – who has been under fire ever since calling costar T.R. Knight, 34, a “f—got” – “could possibly show up for a few episodes” next season.
Still, Washington’s rep insists, “Isaiah is not off the show. We do not have a contract yet, but we expect to.““The stars of the show really felt ABC made a mistake by keeping Isaiah [after his controversial behavior].”
Counters a Washington pal, “They won’t get rid of Isaiah because, with Kate [Walsh] leaving, they don’t want to ruin the magic.”
An ABC rep could not be reached for comment.
I’ve been a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan from the beginning but they kinda let me down this season. I just got tired of the whole Dr. Burke/Christina thing because they constantly questioned and bitched at each other. Yeah, that was gonna be a lasting marriage.
He does need to come back for 1 or 2 episodes just to clear up the whole wedding thing. Other than that, I’m not shedding tears for him. Not because of what he said to T.R. but just for the fact he was starting to bore me.
