I’ve been a Sopranos fan since it all started 8 years ago and I’m one of the hos angry with the ending. We’ve all had plenty of time to stew about the final episode so now it’s time to hear what the creator, David Chase, thinks of it.
Why did he end The Sopranos with such an odd ending?
“I have no interest in explaining, defending, reinterpreting, or adding to what is there. We did what we thought we had to do. No one was trying to blow people’s minds, or thinking, ‘Wow, this’ll (tick) them off.’ People get the impression that you’re trying to (mess) with them and it’s not true. You’re trying to entertain them.”
Any chance of a Sopranos movie?
“I don’t think about (a movie) much. I never say never. An idea could pop into my head where I would go, ‘Wow, that would make a great movie,’ but I doubt it. “I’m not being coy. If something appeared that really made a good ‘Sopranos‘ movie and you could invest in it and everybody else wanted to do it, I would do it. But I think we’ve kind of said it and done it.”
What does he think of the fan’s reactions?
“I hear some people were very angry, and others were not, which is what I expected.”
I’m still a sad bitch cause I think he left too many open ends. As I had said in my comment on Joy’s previous post, they could have had last week’s episode as the season finale and I would have been happier than I was this past Sunday night and think a lot of other people would have been too. How do you guys/gals feel about it? Were you happy the way it ended or are you like me and expected more for an 8 year running program finale? Do you think Tony died when everything went blank? Did life go on and he had a normal family dinner with the rest of the Sopranos gang? Was it all a dream to begin with? What’cha think?
