Rumors surfaced yesterday stating:

Angelina Jolie's adopted daughter Zahara could be forced to undergo corrective surgery on her hip. The operation which could cure the two-year-old's hip dysplasia, a congenital condition. The condition means the tot's thigh is connected to the hip improperly and may affect her ability to walk in the future.

A source tells the Star magazine, the couple have talked with their paediatrician, who told them Zahara may need to have surgery.

But Brad Pitt said:

"It's not true, and I told the magazine that printed it - but they chose to run it anyways."

I was originally skeptical that Zahara needs to get her hips did, especially since it came from Star Magazine. But, for the first time I'm actually impressed with the creativity of tabloid writers. Because Zahara is often photographed while Brad or Angelina hold her, Star cited that she needs hip surgery. It sounded good to me. But Zahara's fine, she's just a spoiled brat.

For the past month, the Colombian pop star has been taking a class at the University of California, Los Angeles, called "Introduction to Western Civilization: Ancient Civilizations from Prehistory to Circa A.D. 843." "She went when she finished her tour, for the summer," Shakira's manager Fifi Kurzman told The Associated Press.

For years the 30-year-old has studied on her own, also taking tutorials on the history and languages of the countries she visits, Kurzman said. The singer, known for last year's "Hips Don't Lie" and other hits, released her first album at age 14 and later took time off to finish high school.

The class began Aug. 6 and ended Thursday, though Shakira didn't attended the last few classes, according to course lecturer Robert Cleve. Cleve said he hadn't known she was a celebrity during the course and was astonished to learn she was a pop star.

"She looked like just an ordinary student. She wasn't flamboyant ... she didn't act like a big celebrity or anything." Shakira, who sat near the front in the third row of the lecture hall, would often discuss the course material with him after class.

"I was really impressed with how intelligent she was," said Cleve.

It's great that Shakira's humble and down to earth enough to go to UCLA. Also, the school did a really good job of keeping this from the media for a month. Mad props to all the Bruins, now tell us what grade she received! Nevermind. You know it was an A.

Sources say OJ Simpson and five other men barged into a hotel room last night, and at gunpoint, took various memorabilia once owned by Simpson.

It happened at the Palace Station Hotel last night at around 7:15. Alfred Beardsley, a memorabilia dealer, had secured various items once owned by Simpson. Beardsley has said he had the suit OJ wore the day he was acquitted of murder.

Beardsley had arranged to meet with someone last night who was interested in buying the suit and other Simpson memorabilia. Beardsley says the man was actually a member of Simpson's crew. He says the men stormed the room, two of them had guns drawn.

The men claimed to be police officers. OJ and others demanded that Beardsley and two other men surrender their cell phones. Beardsley refused to do so. Beardsley says the group stole every piece of memorabilia in the room, including items signed by Joe Montana. They also took a case of never-released leather editions of Simpson's book, "I Want to Tell You."

Beardsley says he made a 911 call, and cops subsequently obtained a search warrant for the room. CSI investigators took Beardsley's phone and took DNA samples and photos of his body. Beardsley says one of the guys roughed him up.

Cops tell us Simpson was question but not placed in custody. There is an active robbery investigation underway.

Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and slapped with a restraining order after hitting two people with a car.Documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 16 show that the rocker, whose full name is William Fred Durst, hit two L.A. residents with his vehicle "on or about October 26, 2006."

A criminal complaint filed in L.A. Superior Court on January 1, 2007, charges Durst with seven misdemeanor counts in total for the 2006 incident, including: two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of battery, one count of making a criminal threat and one charge of reckless driving on the highway.

Contained within the August 16 documents is a restraining order that instructs Durst not to "annoy, harass, strike, threaten…or otherwise disturb the peace of the [victims]."

The singer, 37, is also ordered to surrender or sell to a licensed gun dealer any firearms in his possession and not come within 100 yards of the two alleged victims.

According to an Emmy Awards source, Fox is "in negotiations" with Britney Spears to get her on this Sunday night's Emmy Awards show to apologize?!

The source adds that while her appearance has not yet been confirmed, "the idea is to have her come on and apologize for the VMAs. She's weighing the offer."

Though Spears has been keeping a low profile since the show, a source tells Us that at least some within her inner circle are receptive to the Emmy idea and are urging her to do it.

However, a source close to Spears says: "I can't say this is 100 percent not true. All I can say is that the Emmy people aren't dealing with her record company, her manager or her agents at William Morris. So if she is doing anything for the Emmys then it's not going through the official channels."

What crime did Britney commit, or who did she offend for her to need to apologize? A bad performance doesn't warrant a verbal apology, you redeem yourself by giving a strong performance, not saying, "Sorry, y'all!"

And lastly, my Britney Spears isn't fat post was written over the dozens of "Britney is fat!" comments I've heard and read every day since Sunday. No one is saying "Britney should be more toned" in the media. They're using harmful language and saying the mother of two is fat when she's not. Some of them may be joking or exaggerating their opinions, but their statements are still harmful to impressionable, young girls.

And lastly #2, I'm a new Britney fan just to letcha know (although it feels like I've been defending her for a long ass time now). Okay, I'm done...

A homeless man was charged with participating in an anti-gay attack on a former "Top Chef" reality show contestant outside a bar, police said.

Matthew W. Walli was in a group of about 12 people involved in a confrontation with chef Josie Smith-Malave, who is a lesbian, and three other women who had just been thrown out of the bar over Labor Day weekend, Nassau County police said Thursday.

Walli's group made derogatory statements about the women's perceived sexual orientation, spat on them and hit them, police said. Walli stole a video camera from one of the women, causing her to fall and hurt her knee, they said.

Smith-Malave, who was featured on Season 2 of the Bravo channel show and had been on Long Island to attend a friend's birthday party, suffered bruises, her lawyer said. Her sister, who is heterosexual, also was beaten, and another woman hurt her head.

Walli, 20, was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He was charged with robbery as a bias crime, which is punishable by as many as 15 years in prison upon conviction, and was to be arraigned Thursday, police said.

Lock this a-hole up longer than Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton "served" their sentences combined, and throw away that key! How disgusting is this? The story of this attack broke on Tuesday, and I'm now happy to report that cops have followed a rancid stench and have managed to arrest this jerk.
