Jamie Lynn Spears added to the year's surprise pregnancies by announcing that she and beau Casey Aldridge were expecting.But in an interview with the Associated Press shortly before Thanksgiving, the 16-year-old said she did not have a serious boyfriend.

"I kind of just keep my options open," she said. "I have a bunch of friends that I always hang out with, a bunch of guy friends."

When asked if she'd ever leave her Kentwood, Lousiana, home. "It's, you know, it's my friends," she says. "It's where I grew up. I want to stay here.")

British singer Lily Allen is pregnant with her first child, her rep confirms to PEOPLE. The 22-year-old "Smile" singer has been dating the Chemical Brothers' Ed Simons, 37, since September. "As the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy," her rep said in a statement. "The couple will be making no further comment but they are obviously both thrilled by the news."

Allen, whose 2006 debut album, Alright, Still, sold nearly 2 million copies, recently talked about her desire to step out of the limelight and start a family." Maybe I could retire at 25. I'm only going to do one more album, she told Britain's Sunday Times in November.

Spears and her mother confirmed the pregnancy to OK! magazine, saying she was 12 weeks along and the father is Jamie Lynn's longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge. Aldridge's mother confirmed.

"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," Jamie Lynn told OK!, according to the Associated Press. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."

Spears told the magazine that after confirming the pregnancy with a home test and a subsequent doctor's visit, she told only one friend â€" then waited two weeks before telling anybody else, including her parents.

"I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision," she told the magazine. "Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me."

She told her parents just before Thanksgiving.

"I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious," her mother, Lynne Spears, told OK!. "She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

Spears, a high school junior who is 10 years younger than Britney, had until now escaped much of the attention about her personal life that has surrounded her sister. Jamie Lynn stars as a schoolgirl at the fictitious Pacific Coast Academy in Zoey 101, finishing its third season next month as one of Nickelodeon's highest-rated shows.

Lynne Spears's book about raising her famous daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn has been put on hold.

"The book is delayed indefinitely. It's delayed, not cancelled," says a spokeswoman for Thomas Nelson, which publishes inspirational books and Bibles.

It had been scheduled for a spring 2008 release and was put on hold last week, says the rep. On Tuesday, news hit that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn is pregnant with her boyfriend's child.

Publishers' Weekly described the book as "Lynne Spears's personal story of raising high-profile children while coming from a low-profile Louisiana community."

The publisher declined to comment on whether the focus of the book would change in light of the pregnancy announcement.

AMAZING!!! Bryan Berg, 33, has built a 25ft skyscraper out of playing cards.
The professional 'cardstacker' has created a variety of breathtaking sculptures over the years including models of cathedrals, skyscrapers and stadiums, without using anything to stick them together. Berg said the combined weight of the cards and his special grid structures helped hold his constructions in place.

His latest creation, which took five weeks to build, stands at 25ft 9inches tall and was made from 1,800 decks of playing cards. It was limited only by the height of the building he was working in.

While Berg's remarkable feats may take unyielding concentration and patience he insists his work is highly rewarding.
"I like what I do. This is no kind of torture or boredom for me," he said. "In my lifetime, cardstacking has gone from a hobby to an obsession to a livelihood."

Berg first started building card houses at the age of eight. He broke the Guinness World Record for the World's Tallest House of Cards in 1992 at the age of seventeen, with a tower fourteen feet, six inches tall. When asked recently if he could build a taller structure, perhaps even 100ft high, he was undaunted. "You bet!" he said.

** It takes so much skill and patience to do what Bryan does. Couple that with a thick paycheck, (he says it's now making buildings with cards is now his livelihood), and you've got a pretty good gig. :)

A source tells us the interview, which hits stands tomorrow, is six pages and is on the record with Jamie Lynn and her mother. She tells the mag that the father is Casey Aldridge, who she has been dating for some time and first met at church. Brit's younger sister, star of Nick's "Zoey 101," says she's keeping the baby.

Sources tell us that she has not yet told her older sister. Well, she knows now.

UPDATE: Nickelodeon issued the following statement this afternoon: "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."
