Denzel Washington is opening up his wallet.

Denzel Washington, director and star of the Golden Globe-nominated The Great Debaters, is donating $1 million to Wiley College to re-establish the debate team portrayed in the film.

Washington plays educator and poet Melvin Tolson, who mentored the all-black college's elite debate squad in the 1930s. During an appearance in Marshall, Tex., last week, Washington, 52, said he would like to see the team brought back.

How many actors scratch that, how many people make contributions like this? Oprah's producing the film and she didn't even take it there. Kudos, props, kisses and hugs to Denzel. :)

Although they are about to become parents, Jamie Lynn Spears and her boyfriend Casey Aldridge have no plans to wed â€" yet."They may or may not [get married]," says Aldridge's uncle, Odus Jackson, in an interview outside Aldridge's house in Mississippi. "You just never know."

"He was a typical country boy growing up. I hope they will stick it out and get married for the child's sake and their sake," he says. "But if they're not in love and it was just a fantasy, they don't need to make the same mistake twice."

In the past year Aldridge had relocated to California to be closer to the 16-year-old Spears. "To me, personally, when he was allowed to go out to California part of his senior year . . . you know when you put boy and girl together, it don't work," says Jackson. "Testosterone is tough to control."

Eva Longwhoria's husband who can't speak English, Tony Parker, is suing paparazzi photo agency X17 for publishing reports and text messages alleging he hit it and split it with some whore shortly after marrying Eva.

In the lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Parker alleges X17 defamed him.

X17 published stories that French model Alexandra Paressant had "an affair with Mr. Eva Longoria and that the two carried on a secret relationship for about two months."

The San Antonio Spur seems particularly pissed that X17 never sought to "verify the information with Mr. Parker, Ms. Longoria, any of their representatives or....anyone else who might have knowledge of the truth or falsity of the allegations."

The suit states, "Tony Parker has never had sexual relations with a woman named Alexandra Paressant."

The suit seeks at least $20 million.

Why would any tabloid contact someone's spouse to verify their significant other cheated? Bill Clinton didn't have sexual relations either. Gawd, I hope Tony has a good lawyer because so far it sounds like his only defense is, "they didn't verify." Okay. Try again, hun.
