Adam Sandler Sticks up For Crazy Cruise

adam-sandler.jpg

Adam Sandler issues statement on Tom Cruise.

"To see anyone's private life invaded and mocked like this is sickening. It's especially gross when it happens to a guy like Cruise, who's a great dad, a great husband, and a great friend."

Earlier this month, Andrew Morton's scathing biography of Cruise hit shelves; meanwhile, a pro-Scientology video starring the actor hit the Internet and became the butt of jokes. But many of Cruise's friends and colleagues are not laughing.

Dustin Hoffman: "Tom Cruise is an American and has the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion."

Dan Snyder, the Washington Redskins owner who has a financing deal with Cruise/Wagner Productions, is also defending the star. "Tom is a winner. That's a fact," Snyder writes in an e-mail. "He is a terrific actor, a terrific father and a terrific person. I'm proud to be his friend."

"Imagine having a baby and people talking about it the way they did," says Ben Stiller. "People lose sight of the fact that Tom Cruise is actually a person. I feel for him."

Heath Was Overmedicated?

heath-medication.jpg

It will be days before authorities can determine the cause of Heath Ledger's death, but more details have surfaced on what specific drugs were found in his room Tuesday.

The 28-year-old actor had six prescription drugs, including anti-anxiety medications and sleeping pills, unnamed police sources tell the Associated Press. (Ledger had openly discussed his problems sleeping.)

Police confirmed earlier Wednesday that an undisclosed number of prescription drugs â€" and no illegal drugs â€" were found on the scene.

No Drugs Found on Heath Ledger's $20 Bill

heath-ledger-no-drugs.jpg

Tests found no drug residue on a rolled-up $20 billion found near Heath Ledger's body, police said Wednesday.

A source had said white powder was found on the bill â€" but authorities later said a drug test came up negative.

Police did find prescription medication near the body of the Brokeback Mountain star, said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said during a press conference.

"Some of them were sleeping pills, in essence, and some other drugs there as well. ... We are going to wait for the toxicology report."

I try to avoid posting speculation as much as possible, especially when we're dealing with one's death. At first people were mentioning suicide - they were wrong. Then they talked about possible cocaine use - wrong again. It's horrible how the media is just so eager to report anything!

How many people have been killed off by sleeping pills? It seems like they're more lethal than beneficial. We'll only know what happened in a few weeks once the medical examiner reveals the truth. R.I.P.

Heath Ledger Updates

Supermodel Helena Christensen has kind words for her lost friend."He was such a special and genuine person, so extraordinarily talented because he was so raw and honest with his feelings. He was so full of life, so electric."

Ledger, she says, was "a sweet, smart and talented young man and had many friends. My heart goes out to his family. I am just beyond sad at this point, and shocked."

She also says that she was about to see the 28-year-old actor when she heard of his death. "I was on my way over to pay him a visit when I found out. I had just left him a message and heard his voice on the machine."

Brokeback Mountain Director Ang Lee is heartbroken

"Working with Heath was one of the purest joys of my life. He brought to the role of Ennis [Del Mar] more than any of us could have imagined â€" a thirst for life, for love, and for truth, and a vulnerability that made everyone who knew him love him. His death is heartbreaking.

"He understood the cowboy way, just in the way he posed, and his body language and how it developed over the course of the film. He understood the shyness and vulnerability and isolation of the character. He really got that. And he did it while carrying the Western aura."

Heath left footprints in cement with his 2-year-old daughter, Matilda.
TOO cute!

It was Ledger who put the markings in wet cement near the fire hydrant in front of their house. "The Matilda thing in the sidewalk with the footprints, he did that about two years ago. It was a secret. It was a fun thing. He did it as a surprise for his family."

The speculation continues - Mysterious $20 bill and unknown substance found in Heath's apartment.

A rolled-up $20 bill was found near Heath Ledger's body, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said during a press conference Wednesday.

Kelly admitted that "no testing has been done for narcotics at this time" on the bill, but it's something the police are looking at. He also refused to elaborate on what drugs were found in the Brokeback Mountain star's apartment, saying only, "Some of them were sleeping pills, in essence, and some other drugs there as well. ... We are going to wait for the toxicology report."

Meanwhile, Ledger's body has been released to a New York City funeral home. Arrangements have not been disclosed.

According to WCBS-TV's Web site, found in the actor's apartment, besides the prescription sleeping medicine mentioned by police shortly after the discovery of the body, was the $20 bill.

The station also reported that several packets containing an unknown substance were also inside the Soho apartment where Ledger was discovered Tuesday.

The TV report stressed that it is not known whether Ledger, 28, owned the substances in question or if he even ingested them.

Heath's autopsy came back inconclusive. CNN reports that the medical examiner said it should take around 10 days to determine a cause of death.

Britney Spears Still Can't See Her Boo Boos

Britney Spears was not granted visitation rights with her two sons after the singer arrived for a custody hearing Wednesday " then left the courthouse before it began.

"The previous custody orders " in which Ms Spears has no visitation " have not changed," court rep Allan Parachini said Wednesday.

"Both sides were heard in court. She arrived at the courthouse, but (shortly afterward) indicated that she wanted to leave. [Kevin Federline] did answer some questions posed by (Commissioner Scott Gordon)."

Attorney's for Spears had been seeking visitation rights for the singer.

The emergency hearing, which the pop singer had requested, was a replay of last week's hearing, when Spears showed up at the courthouse only to depart, missing a session in which she lost all access to sons Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1.

Neither Spears nor her ex-husband Kevin Federline is required to attend the hearings.

At least Brit Brit's actually showing up to court now for her depositions and the hearings. That's a start. Next step is covering up her sagging nips, as if that's ever going to happen.

Quote Me of The Day: Scarlett Johansson

Scar Jo on her Jan. 20 visit to Kuwait:

Scarlett Johansson Iraq with troops

It's important to give people a piece of home and to boost morale. Everybody out here is risking everything, giving us one of the biggest gifts they can. I want to be out here to support them. It's nice to give them a smile in the middle of the day. If they are missing home, feeling down or worried, hopefully being here will get their minds off of things.

Scarlett is on a five-day United Service Organizations (USO) tour to the Gulf region. Luv her! :)

Did You Spot Him Too?

Paris Hilton was at Harry O's in Utah on Friday night to check out Maroon 5's concert. I was slightly disturbed elated to see that her wonk eye is extra wonky, her weave looks messy and the vein on her arm is peeking out to say 'hello,' ... Then I saw the most alarming image of all ... the midget behind Paris Hilton.

Paris Hilton parties at Tao

Why do midgets flock to Paris time and time again? I'm sure she's already effed a few of 'em in her hey day. And let's be honest, I love her for that. Maybe I should bang a midget too? Throw him up in the air a few times during the act and see how fast he can get back to the right spot.

Future Whore - Miley Cyrus, Part 2

It takes a true slut to spot a whore, and I've done just that. Miley has an affinity for getting frisky in front of the lens: which means she's gonna have a hot strip tease where she effs the Jonas brothers, all three at once, while singing Hannah Montana tracks and staring at the ceiling mirror to make sure she doesn't look fat, in her upcoming sex tape, secretly edited and leaked courtesy of Disney.

Miley's gonna start having wild orgys, be videotaped stumbling outta bars inebriated as hell, before getting caught with a few ounces of blow in Hollywood's standard coming of age DUI by the time she's 20.

I'm luvin' it. Miley, feel free to prove me wrong; but I can just tell there's some skank in ya that's aching to get out.

Look at That Smile!

Need I say more?

Kanye West smile

Kanye West

Kanye West has the kind of smile where you look at those pearly whites and it makes you feel like smiling too. That's all. I don't feel like I need to even mention why he was smilin' or who he was with. I just wanted to say his smile is gorgeous and it's refreshing to know he's finding reasons to flash that wide grin again.
