Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Are Engaged

This was a long time coming! Months ago I said I could see these two tying the knot. Now the question remains, considering Pete’s love for guyliner, who will be prettier on their wedding day? The bride, or the groom? Hmmmm.

Ashlee posted the following message on friendsorenemies.com:

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best.

Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes – it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us.”

Papa Joe said he’s “totally happy” and “so excited to have Pete as part of (our) family.”

“We are blessed,” he says.

Sounds like JoJo is excited to be a Granddaddy. Jess is a lost cause.

A year into their relationship, Pete said,

“We’re past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it’s crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It’s just a really awesome thing.”

Awwww. They are just so damn cute! There’s something about Pete and Ashlee that just feels right. You just get the vibe that it works and they’re not always at each other’s throats. Congrats to the happy couple!
