Britney Spears and Madonna’s latest hookup has been temporarily derailed by a technical glitch.
Spears had been scheduled to begin shooting a video montage for Madonna’s upcoming tour this morning at the Lots soundstage in Hollywood. But production insiders say that because the set was not finished in time, cameras will not roll until tomorrow.
The set features an elevator, in, around and on which Spears will dance.
“The video will be very deep,” a source in the Spears camp tells E! News. “You’ve never seen Britney like this before. It will blow your mind.”
Madonna reached out to Britney to do the project, says the source.
The Material One’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, would only say that “there is footage being shot of Britney some time this week in conjunction with Madonna’s upcoming tour” and that the segment was not a music video.
“That is all the information I have available,” the rep added. “The rest is a secret.”
Usher talks about the ups and downs of being married, the choices he’s made, putting God first, and his ultimate purpose: being the best father he can be to his son, Usher Raymond V. His baby is adorable!
In the last year, you got married and you’ve had a baby. Which has changed you more?
“They’re both linked—I can’t have one without the other. But the one thing that changed me the most is having a wife. Our child is an extension of that union.”
Why?
“Because now I represent what he is to become. He’s gonna admire me, he’s gonna look up to me. He’s gonna say, “I wanna be”—or he should say— “I wanna be like my father. I wanna be a man of valor. I wanna possess what my father has as a man.” To get married was a choice. To have a child is a responsibility.”
Does that new responsibility challenge you to make music that is more responsible?
“I started making Here I Stand before I had my son and before I was married. It was a deliberate choice to make music with substance, not just about the things that we’re accustomed to—music about being the celebrity, the player, or having the car, the girl and the bling.”
Your father wasn’t around to raise you. How do you plan to be different for your son than your father was for you?
“Just simply being there. I don’t judge my father because I forgave him for anything he’d ever done to hurt me unintentionally. My father and I had a very short amount of time together throughout my entire life, but the most valuable time was during his final days. He asked me to forgive him for not being there. He asked me to give him a chance, give him a shot because he loved me, and he had always loved me. But it was very difficult for him to be in the situation he was in and be the example he wanted me to follow. So he intentionally stayed away. And he was kept away from me too. He didn’t like it, but he didn’t fight it because he knew he wasn’t living right.”
What would you say to young men and women about what they should expect from a man who’s a father? What is living right as a father? How do you define that? How would that man look?
“That man would accept his responsibilities as a father, regardless of whether he was with the mother of the child. Men will leave a situation for several reasons. One, it’s not comfortable. It may be violent. The two of you may grow apart. But you should never abandon that responsibility, which is to be there, reading with your child, being supportive of your child’s growth. That is communicating. That is making the choice to put your child before your own vanity.”
If you could take your finger and touch your 9-month-old son, Usher V, on the head and impart some certain knowledge, what would you want him to know?
“First of all, I’d actually look inside myself and evaluate what I felt like I missed from my own father.”
What did you miss?
“Knowing that I was accepted. That I mattered. And hearing that he cared enough to put me before himself.”
Despite their breakup in May, Sarah Larson remains on good terms with George Clooney.
“George is a great guy, a wonderful person,” the former Fear Factor winner tells Britain’s Hello! magazine in what is billed as her first interview since she and the star split.
“I don’t regret spending time with him,” says Larson. “We still remain friends and have kept in touch. In fact, we spoke over the phone a couple of days ago.”
As for what she’s taken away from the one-year relationship, Larson says, “Most people know George has a great sense of humor and is an adept storyteller. But I will always love his extraordinary dance moves.”
Not that this meant – despite early speculation – that the two were destined to waltz down the aisle. “We were never engaged,” she says.
And as for her current relationship status, though single, Larson says, “I have two men in my life right now. They’re very dark and have lots of hair and weigh 15 lbs.”
File this one under nasty and gross. Sting is fit to be tied after finding out that his teenage daughter Cocoshared a tent at Glastonbury with Pete Doherty. I just threw up a little. The lead singer with the Police went ballistic when it came out what little Coco was up to with the famous junkie.
Pete was spotted lying down in the teenager’s tent at the music festival. The 29 year old Babyshambles singer played a solo set at the festival.
An onlooker said: ‘I was standing next to Coco’s tent after Pete had played his set, and one of her friends went to check on her.
‘She unzipped the door, and Pete was lying outstretched in her tent.
‘He looked very comfortable and was smoking something - the tent was full of smoke but it was impossible to tell what it was. He seemed pretty out of it, though.
‘Coco’s father isn’t too happy about her hanging around Pete because of his reputation, and hit the roof when he heard he had stayed in her tent.’
The odd couple met at a Soho’s Jazz After Dark a bar in London in March. Pete has been helping her with her gutiar and song writing talents. Coco has recently signed with Island Records and will debut her album next year.
It was also reported: ‘Coco has definitely inherited her dad’s vocal skills and Pete has been raving about her talent. It’s pretty clear he has the hots for her too, which will only worry her dad more.’
Pete would be learning first about the meaning of Sting’s 1983 song The King Of Pain first hand if that was my 17 year old daughter. I would lay down the smack down on that 29 year old junkie!
Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend of two years Camila Alves are the proud parents of a son. The sweet baby boy was born Monday night in LA and weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs and 4 oz.
McConaughey’s oldest brother, Rooster, [Yes that is his name I did not make that up] shared in their joy. “Oh, it’s going to be fun!” he tells us. “He’ll make a really good dad because he’s got a lot of patience. I’m excited for him. It’s about time.”
“They’re so happy!” said a close pal
Hey Matthew your son had really bad timing. Everyone is still buzzing about Nicole Kidman’s daughter. Kidman is a heavy weight star and you are more fluff. Not to mention the world is holdings its breath waiting for the newest Jolie-Pitt’s to put in an appearance. Still we all wish you the best and congrats on the baby. I for one can’t wait to see what kind of weird name you stick this kid with, may I suggest Bongos McNabb?
