Synopsis: No Limits: The Will To Succeed will include insights from the Beijing Games, the pool, and the team, giving readers an up-close view of Phelps’s record-breaking performance.

Phelps will also share anecdotes about his family, his coach, his passion for the sport, and lessons learned from unexpected challenges and obstacles. No Limits will be an inspirational memoir not only for fans of great, dramatic moments in sports but also for a wider audience of fans who will take inspiration from a man and his determination to succeed.

Free Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, has signed Michael up to pen Built to Succeed, which will describe the Olympian’s philosophy on training and competition along with his backstory of growing up with a single mom as well as a attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

The book will be released on December 9, 2008.

Michael Phelps also authored a book in 2005 called Beneath the Surface. Selling just 10,000 copies, it was hardly a best-seller, but the golden boy of swimming has just snagged another book deal with a reported $1 million advance.
