the words "colored person" makes me think about my grandparents using it and it wasn't meant to be anything nice. That was their way they were raised and it meant very negative things. Yes, she probably is just to stupid to understand that and it was probably a slip up but being someone who is VERY marginalized by EVERYONE in this country I just find it very rude and ignorant to say such stupid things. I am sure she didn't mean anything by it but when someone usually says those words it isn't meant as a compliment! Oh well, no harm no foul, this is LLO we are talking about:)!!!
If she said 'black person' no one would get worked up to begin with. This is why trying to be PC really sucks sometimes. I think she meant to say 'person of color.'
She could have played it safe and said 'African American.' It just annoys me that people who say I'm "African American" call me the N word when they're upset or behind closed doors. I hate politically correct bullshit.
As a black person, I feel like "colored person" is nowhere near as offensive as a lot of other terms, let alone slurs, and I know what a strong Obama supporter Lindsay is.
I don't think someone saying "colored person" is racist and I think she was tryna say, "person of color" like everyone else has been saying, but it didn't come out right.
I dunno. It's a tough one. I think many minority, feminist and LGBTQ communities get worked up over the wrong issues, maybe I'm too chill or sumthing. I dunno.

What an idiot!! To me, saying colored person takes us back to the first part and middle of last century and that is so unbelievably racist! I am sorry. This just shows how stupid this beyoch is!! I am white and it makes me uncomfortable to hear her say that. IDIOT!!! Now, to say a person of color has a totaly different connotation.
