PETA Loves Oprah

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has named Oprah as their "Person of the Year." Why would an animal rights group pick a non-vegetarian billionaire? Well it's not because of her fierceness.

This past April Oprah did a show about the atrocious puppy mills and dedicated the show to her 13-year-old cocker spaniel Sophie, who had recently passed. PETA's president Ingrid E. Newkirk said that Oprah had used her "powerful voice to defend those without one."

I saw that episode and I am not ashamed to say that I mildly cried. It was sad y'all! There were dogs that couldn't stand because they had lived in cages their whole life. Lancaster Pennsylvania aka Amish country is where most of these puppy mills are. I live about 45 minutes away from there. They are absolutely horrendous to their breeding dogs. Oprah really did do a good thing. She deserves it, and she didn't even have to get naked.
