Slumdog Millionaire Stars Score Great New Roles

Slumdog Millionaire's power duo Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have new gigs. They're both not white, y'all. Or blonde. Oh shit! I think it's the Barack Obama effect. Heh. I luvs it.

I love how much attention this film has received. It's the ethnic, low-budget little movie that could pull in over $100 million and earn eight Academy Awards. Still can't believe it was supposed to go straight to DVD.

Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto already have new projects on the horizon.

Pinto, who played Latika in Slumdog, will join a cast that includes Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in Woody Allen's latest (still unnamed) film, according to Variety.  Slumdog lead Patel will work with Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan on The Last Airbender, based on the popular Nickelodeon kid's series.

Patel took over the role of baddie Prince Zuko from singer Jessse McCartney.

The stars �" lovers in the film and buddies in real life �" said their breakout year has been beyond belief.
