Laura Leighton Returns to Melrose Place, Reprising Role as Sydney Andrews

I used to love Melrose Place, but it was on so long ago, I forgot so much of what had happened. Apparently Sydney Andrews had a near-fatal accident on the show. Naturally she's healthy and alive now and poised to make a return. Hot redhead Laura Leighton will reprise her role as Sydney Andrews on the CW's remake of Melrose Place this fall.

At the end of Season 5 of Melrose, a car struck Sydney on her wedding day and left fans believing that she'd died. But appearances can be deceiving: Leighton is back as Sydney who will be the landlord on the network's updated series.

The cast is complete, says a source, and they'll start shooting the pilot next week. The official cast features Katie Cassidy as Ella; Jessica Lucas (who played the narc on this season's 90210 but will be a different character in the show) as Riley; Ashlee Simpson-Wentz as Violet; Michael Rady as Jonah; Colin Egglesfield as Auggie; Shaun Sipos as David, and Stephanie Jacobsen as Lauren.

This show sounds like a bomb! A colossal bomb. These remakes garner a whole new audience because original fans can't stand to watch the bad acting and cheap storylines. The WB's shows are like Flava of Love season 3: Just not as good as the original.
