Quote Me of the Day: Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell on American Idol

During American Idol season, Simon Cowell flies back and forth to England four times every week.

“There is a point where I am not sure we can keep this schedule up. It takes longer and longer to make these shows because you have to put more into them, and I am not sure we can sustain me doing three shows…

“Most people do one show a year and I do three and they involve a lot of traveling. One may have to go... I like all of them. I can’t imagine not doing Britain’s Got Talent and I can’t imagine not doing X Factor. But I guess America is more likely to go because I have got one year under contract. Maybe that will be the end.”

Simon's got the magic touch, but I do think Idol could go on without him. Viewers could get accustomed to someone else; the new guy would just have to be completely brutal or completely gay. I nominate Clay Aiken.

I think Clay Aiken would be excellent as a judge. He has experience on the show, on tours, making albums and he's comical, honest, intelligent and a great entertainer, not to mention a HUGE following.

Agreed with Amy and S-DAWG that American Idol would suffer without Simon. Part of the viewer interest of AI for many peeps is watching Simon's vicious and constructive critcism comments of contestants, something that the other three judges are seemingly incapable of doing.

My potential dark horse candidate of replacing Cowell would be Gordon Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen. Why not, dude's on FOX already! He may not be associated with the music industry but you know he's more caustic than Simon and would win over new AI fans in a hot second!

Okay, okay, my scenario will never happen. Just a dream though :)

He's the best part of the show, imho. They should just give it a rest already.

Damn, Boy has some serious frequent flyer miles!! Holy SHIZ, that is pure madness!!

I agree, the show will blow without him... assuming producers keep flogging the dead horse and air it after he leaves.
