Adam Lambert gave one hell of a performance this week on American Idol, singing Aerosmith’s “Cryin.” I’ll sum it up in one word: LOUD!

It was over the top and in your face and a bit much. Adam Lambert should still win this whole thing, though! He’s amazing, and so are Paula Abdul’s comments.

More important, Adam Lambert makes me love American Idol as much as I did the first season. It gives artists like Adam, who would probably scoff at the idea of competing on a mainstream pop music show, the exposure and fan base to make it in the music industry for as long as they put out good music. For that, American Idol is amazing and Adam reminds us of the limitless possibilities that the show offers in a music industry where many of the best talents go unnoticed and undiscovered.
