Kris Allen Wins American Idol, Simon Cowell Doesn't Stand Up, Biggest Upset Since Taylor Hicks
I do not know where to begin with this post, but I am furious! Yep, it's great that Kris Allen won, I guess, but I think that Adam Lambert's sexuality played a huge role in this season's outcome. Whew! Okay. I will attempt to be calm.
I pretty much only heard Kris Allen sing tonight. Yeah, I heard him sing Kanye's "Heartless," but every time Kris would perform, I wouldn't pay attention, or maybe I would, but I would forget his performances. He does not stand out. He got lucky. He is Taylor Hicks 2.0. The only difference between Kris and Taylor is that Kris plays instruments and he's more talented; but he's like every other artist you hear on a street corner or at a college party. Many have tried to be another John Mayer, if that's the direction Kris is going in, and many have failed.
I'm pretty speechless right now. Speechless. I will attempt to regroup and write something halfway decent in the morning. I had so many thoughts, but my mind is going blank. Typing about the finale makes it more real and I am confused.
One thing I will say is that AMERICAN IDOL DID NOT ANNOUNCE KRIS ALLEN'S PERCENTAGE OF VOTES OR ADAM LAMBERT'S PERCENTAGE OF VOTES. WHY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And when Ryan Seacrest asked Kris what he has to say about winning American Idol, Kris said, "Adam deserves this. I'm sorry." I couldn't agree more!

ok REALLY late comment- its a real shame that adam didnt come in 1st but have you noticed that usually the runner up does better than the winner? its now 2011 and adam has already had a national tour, an international tour, 2 post idol albums, and 1 on the way! and kris...well im pretty sure he hasnt done anything remotely close to that. no offense to kria though. hes got talent and iv even got one of his songs on my ipod. nothing compated to my 60+ songs by adam but still!

he was #2 is because people couldn't
accept that he's gay. Also the news said
someone from At&T provided phones to
fans at a party for Chris showing them
how to vote several time a minute to
rack up votes for Chris nice huh?

well carole, i guess it helps if half of the hits are also are u searching 4 adam lamberg? i'm a bit with ken b on this. Being australian, i first heard kris allen on the tv show ellen and immediately fell in love with him. i then went onto youtube and watched a bit of adam lambert...he does have an amazing voice but i think kris won cause he's really sweet and has an amazingly fantastic but at the same time sweet voice. He did win and the comp is about the voice, americans must be really low excuses for ppl if they have to put kris down and make up excuses for y he won cause i no that in australia, it isnt like that so u guys shld jst think of what example u guys are sendin out about ur country ...think about it!

Joshua, sorry but we have no proof that THE MAJORITY voted for Kris. We do know that Kris got the majority votes (speed voting, AT&T voting lessons and parties in Kris's home state etc etc), but that's NOT the same as saying that the majority voted for him.

Hmmm, makes you wonder, doesn't it? Google Adam Lambert and you get 27 500 000 hits; Google Kris Allen and you get 14 000 000 hits. Nothing more to say, really.

People have to remember that Kris won because the majority of America voted for him. So, instead of getting mad that he won get mad at America's desire of normalcy.
"He is Taylor Hicks 2.0. The only difference between Kris and Taylor is that Kris plays instruments and he's more talented"... Uhh yeah like Taylor Hicks except "more talented"... which is why he is going to have an amazing career.
Kris' singles are also doing better than Adam's on the charts... so is it because he is a better singer? Maybe not, but he's who America wants.

Omh, sry for posting this late but the wrong guy won the competition. "Kris is so cute, I have to vote him even thought Adam sings better." - That's what my friend said, and I think that alots of other people thought so too. Kris may have the 'cute-looks', but Adam has the skills. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I don't wish luck for Kris. We are going to hear lots of more about Adam Lambert. Adam will get further that Kris. And as Kris said himself : "Adam deserves this. I'm sorry."

dumbdam only outshone the others in a cleary small minority of peoples minds, my point is and always has been that the use of his sexual choice as defense against criticism is unbelievable. gay has become the new black, if a person says something negative about another and that person has chosen a life of chugging cock the critic must suddenly be ant-gay, homophobic, whatev... he simply didnt win over the hearts and minds of the masses. idol is after all a business, to find talent is only part of it, that talent has be marketable to the american buying majority, not just a few that will only be responsible for a paltry couple of cd sales but will provide loud and vehement support in ways that dont pay the bills, ie, meaningless blogs... dumbdam is not new to the world of entertainment, had he the actual talent you seem to blindly think he has during one of his literally hundreds of auditions for plays some casting person would have recognized it however as its really only marginal thats all he was ever capable of on that stage... which is all he will ever aspire to, mediocrity...
