Taylor has been quoted as saying...This is not a sprint, its a marathon. He was traveling with his band ten years before AI and two years (solo tour) after AI. He's a young man, he's enjoying all aspects of a career in which he delves into new venues and opportunities, as often as he can. He is creatively gifted and it shows in everything he's done.
So... if you want a "singer" whose career only consists of selling CD's and of whom you rarely see in public, then fine, that's up to you, but for thousands of Taylor's loyal fans, that's unheard of and very boring, we enjoy Taylor's advertures as much as he does. Kris was the better "all around" vocal performer by far... Adam leaned far too much on his screaming. He has NO chance of making it "main stream". The only reason you noticed Adam more than Kris is because Adam is "different". Unfortunately, different doesn't sell record contracts... Skill does. Kris has all around great skill and vocal performance!
As for Adam's sexuality, I think it is extremely naive to think that is the reason for him losing the competition. He doesn't appeal to everyone. It has nothing to do with his sexual orientation.
I haven't been following and yet assumed a fix too. I was like "um, how is it some guys whose name I dunno won?" Was assuming it would be Adam.

Okay people get real Adam did not loose because he might be gay, he lost because he was born just a couple of generations too late Adam has an 80's hair band voice we all know that. I'd love for him to bring back hair bands and he could do it with his talent, but I do think Kris is the better singer, he knows who he is, always has, he has his own style and never changed it!!!! You know, we have had gay and lesbians in the theater, movies, music, art since Jesus wore short pants! This is nothing new. It's show-biz, for cripes sakes!. I don't know what went wrong here, but it really doesn't matter. Kris is a nice person, but talented? I don't mean just the oatmeal-colored stuff you might hear at your favorite hangout - I mean the real down-in-the-dirt, pay your dues, learn your craft, commitment to excellence talented. Put it in those terms and no, he's not. No where near. He has no vocal technique, he opens his mouth and hopes for the best, he has no stage presence, he doesn't have that burning, excited-to-be-here thing that makes you work your ass off day after day, excuse me, to get one musical phrase just right. Adam consistently, week after week, month after month, gave full-blown, exciting, interesting, artistic and creative performances. Topping himself over and over again. And he did it with a solid vocal technique that NEVER failed him and a stage presence and delivery that just hooked you in. Now, Kris may have gotten the most votes(?), but real talent is real talent and Adam Lambert is already an international sensation. He is. And he has the training and heart to stay a sensation for many years. I feel sorry for Kris, and it's not fair to him because no matter where he goes, Kris is the one who is going to carry the stigma of what happened at AI. Adam has already moved on. Bless his heart.
Personally, I think the whole thing with AT&T, Fox, AI producers, etc. all had some input of funny business going on about who was to win. But that really doesn't matter - they got their dramatic ending, and the expense of . . . who knows - but I will never watch it again.

People have to remember that Kris won because the majority of America voted for him. So, instead of getting mad that he won get mad at America's desire of normalcy.

Being australian, i first heard kris allen on the tv show ellen and immediately fell in love with him. i then went onto youtube and watched a bit of adam lambert...he does have an amazing voice but i think kris won cause he's really sweet and has an amazingly fantastic but at the same time sweet voice. He did win and the comp is about the voice, americans must be really low excuses for ppl if they have to put kris down and make up excuses for y he won cause i no that in australia, it isnt like that so u guys shld jst think of what example u guys are sendin out about ur country ...think about it!
