GLAAD Wants Perez Hilton to Apologize For Using Anti-Gay Slur
Perez Hilton launched a daily vicious hate campaign against Isaiah Washington from Grey's Anatomy for using the F-word. He wanted Isaiah fired and would not stop with his attacks until Isaiah was let go.
But the blogger who so closely resembles a pig, with his actions and snout nose, is also a "proud" gay man who called Will.I.Am. of the Black Eyed Peas a f*g.
Mario Lavandiera justified using the gay slur because it was “a split second decision that I was going to say the worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear.” But although Perez insulted Will.I.Am, the man child didn't consider that he might get a smackdown because of it. Mario then added, “I knew it was going to set him off but I didn’t want to get into a fight with this person.” Boohoo!
Will.I.Am. alleges that a fan must have hit Perez Hilton and that it was NOT him. Now the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, GLAAD, has issued a call for Perez to apologize for using one of the most hateful anti-gay slurs out there.
GLAAD’s senior director of media programs, said: “These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community.
For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.
“We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.”
Isn't it great that GLAAD has spoken out about this? They don't care if a member of its community or an outsider of the LGBTQ community uses anti-gay slurs, it is and will always be inappropriate!
Perez needs to go suck on some dildos and he better apologize!!!!!

The only reason I think he said it was to get a rise out of him. He wasn't gay bashing or anything like that. That is a sensitive word and you say that to a straight man and he will go zero to crazy in 2 seconds. It isn't the same as Isaiah saying it to someone who is gay. Two totally different meanings. You know?? I am so burned out from work my mind isn't working! Hope that all makes sense!

Mr. Gyllenhaal, I hear you. I suppose many would say that an African-American using the "n word" is a prime example of that, but Perez Hilton is one of the most vocal people when it comes to this issue which is why this makes absolutely no sense. Especially after the way he went after Isaiah and Ms. Prejean. I mean, Perez has absolutely zero mercy or tolerance for anyone else when they say things he doesn't like or agree with.The way I see it is that a man who is constantly denigrating, viciously and maliciously attacking others for being anti-gay rights and using slurs against gays is now being called out on his own hypocrisy by the most important gay rights advocacy group in the world. I find that very ironic. Poetic justice maybe?

Interesting!! :0 Hmmm... it just seems hypocritical considering how Perez was campaigning for Isaiah Washington to get fired for saying fa**ot yet it's cool for him to do so?!
The way I see it, there's certain words that members of every community can use in private but when you go public with that shit, you get what you deserve when there's backlash.
Perez was surrounded by celebs and media and he thought he could drop the F-word?! Go GLADD!
I have another post on this cause Perez says that GLAAD should apologize. Right now I'm working on a Cammy Fug post but a new Perez one should be up soon.

This is totally going to run and run and I agree with Senor Craigmackk. Perez's ego is loving the attention/ not wanting to admit after the whole Carrie Prejean thing that his is totally in the wrong. He could have used nastier curse words I guess - but it was such an odd one to choose. Why use words that will presumably have plagued you for most of your adult life to hurt others. Ugh. What a simpleton.

Here goes another firestorm! In my mind it is different when Perez says it because he is gay. I know you won't understand that but it is. I can think of many other cultures who say words that other people can't say all time. It was a horrible word to use, yes, but truthfully, it doesn't bother me as bad as non-homosexuals using!

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem within Perez's ego to have the inclination to issue an apology. Don't think it's within his character at all.
Because Perez operating a large-scale website, I would imagine he's constantly mindful from a business-minded standpoint in that this controversy is helping his traffic significantly. As of late, the dude has been all about creating publicity, which strategically leads to publicity geared for his website after all. So any apology is probably a moot point in his mind right now.
If the backlash of GLAAD and other factors causes Perez's traffic to fall off dramatically, then I would imagine the Perez would step up to the plate and apologize to Will.i.am.
But for right now, it is a business-as-usual approach for the pink-haired freak who is seemingly reveling in the controversy of it all.
