Transformers director Michael Bay is sounding off of Ms. Fox. Megan Fox has tried to make herself sound like a credible actress by dissing Transformers.
Megan said, "I can't sh*t on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don't want to blow smoke up people's ass. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting."
Michael Bay spoke to The Wall Street Journal about it and said,
"Well, that's Megan Fox for you! She says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, 'Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it.
Nick Cage wasn't a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck. before I put him in Armageddon. Shia LaBeouf wasn't a big movie star before he did Transformers -- and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from Bad Boys. Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers. I like to think that I've had some luck in building actors' careers with my films."
Megan didn't think she was sh*tting on Transformers cause she doesn't know how to speak. She said that she's a hermit and she should do something about that cause she has no social skills. Megan's nothing but a pretty face. Nothing. And her acting sucks. It's hard for her to accept this but she doesn't help her cause by talking about sex in all of her interviews. She's so tragical.

So long as she brings the purdy, people will keep hiring her. She has no need to think, so why would she :P

Interesting how we scrutinize Fox's comments but not Bay's response.
Let's see...Nic Cage won an Oscar before Bay cast him. So had Ben Affleck, for co-writing Good Will Hunting. Will Smith was on a hit TV show for five years and had a sizable fanbase before Bad Boys. Even Shia LeBeouf had been in a couple hit movies as a supporting character(which, let's face it, is all he is in Transformers, too). Bay casts actors who are already seen in Hollywood circles as "the next big thing." He doesn't go out and "discover" unknowns based on their acting chops, he seeks out those who can bring in box office revenue. He's good at it, too, but he's not good at bringing any of these people crediiblity as actors--notice how none of them have ever won awards for their turns in mediocre Michael Bay films, unless Razzies count. Meanwhile his films do frequently get nominated for "best sound" or "best visual effects." You think there may be a pattern developing here?
Is Michael Bay saying that Transformers IS about the acting? It certainly doesn't market itself as anything other than a movie where things get blow'd up good by big machines. Megan Fox is not saying anything that people haven't pointed out before--Bay's movies are nothing but explosions and special effects. Maybe that's not the thing for the "lead" "actress" to say about her own movie, but we shouldn't let Bay get away with such a humourless self-aggrandizing response where he takes credit for careers that were taking off before he noticed them. I mean, I'm surprised he didn't try to claim credit for Bruce Willis and Sean Connery as well...especially since y'all would have let him get away with it unquestioningly.
