The reason why I think this sucks so much is because people may have flown in from all over the world to attend Michael Jackson's formerly scheduled public memorial on Friday. I hope that they'll be okay.
It seems like it's difficult for the Jackson family to obtain proper permits for a public Neverland Ranch memorial. WTF is up with the people in Los Olivios, California? If there's any celebrity who should be able to bypass protocol, it should be the King of Pop.
Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland.
"Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly.Nothing is planned for Neverland, at least through Friday."
The current rumor is that Michael Jackson's public memorial may be moved to the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Considering the central location, size of the Center, and that it was where MJ performed the night before his death, it's one of many fitting venues in which friends and family could to pay respect.

I was just telling someone today everything you expressed in the last paragraph about a memorial being held in Los Angeles. Great minds think alike! Haha. By now, I thought the Jackson family would have made concrete plans for MJ's services and his fans who have already made their way to the Santa Barbara area in anticipation of his public viewing will be pissed if it's not held there at all!

The size of the venue would make it safer and easier to control in a way, so this could be a really good idea.

Retract what I said Neverland as the memorial won't be taking place there after all. I skimmed over everything too fast! My bad. Lol.
Nevertheless, his fans who already drove large distances to Neverland for Friday will still be pissed though.
