Let the Paula Abdul replacement rumors continue. Is Michelle Obama gonna replace Paula too?

Papa Joe allegedly wants Jessica Simpson to replace Ms. Abdul.

Jessica Simpson is being pushed to the producers of "American Idol" by her father/manager Joe Simpson as the perfect replacement for Paula Abdul.

I can't figure out whether or not this would be a bad move for Jess. She would be jumping the shark, but reality TV seems to be her calling and American Idol gets more viewers than her new reality show is going to. This could open some doors for Jess, but I just couldn't see her being comfortable on a panel with Simon Cowell.

UPDATE: Jessica's rep says this is "not true at all." Well, that is why I placed this post in the "Dumb Rumor" category.
