Ted Kennedy Dies At Age 77
Ted Kennedy passed away last night after a year long battle with brain cancer. Ted was the last surviving member of the Kennedy dynasty after his sister Eunice passed away earlier this summer.
Just a few days before he passed, Ted Kennedy who served as Senator of Massachusetts for 8 terms, requested his seat be filled by appointment instead of through election. Ted became the strong arm for the Democratic party and was praised for his liberal positions on education, health care, and immigration.
The family released this statement regarding his passing:
"We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives. He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it. He always believed that our best days were still ahead, but it's hard to imagine any of them without him."
R.I.P. Ted Kennedy.

The Kennedy family has certainly been almost our U.S. form of U.K. royalty, and we probably won't see the likes of them ever again. Their family has undergone triumph, tragedy and tabloid-like notoriety before our very eyes in the span of several decades, which has it made them fascinating for many to watch.
I feel health-care reform will pass but not to the extent that Obama has stipuated. Agreed that Ted had not only an uncanny ability to be a bipartisan with not only healthcare, but also other issues. That's something else will miss from him in the Senate.
Can't believe we're discussing politics in some detail on POTP (hahaha), but hey, these are important issues for the direction of our country though.

Hopefully healthcare reformed is passed but nothing to the degree that Obama wants. I think I will always remember him for they Dynasty he came from. I am facinated with the Kennedy's. He was a great politican because he could work both sides of the aisle; unlike so many people today. I have read many Kennedy memoirs only because I consider them American Royalty not because of their political views. We differ greatly on those. He can now join his family and rule the afterlife!

Kennedy lived a great life and hopefully health-care reform is passed with his absence now. He would be proud of that. R.I.P.
