Kanye West to Taylor Swift at MTV VMAs: 'Beyonce Had One of the Best Videos of All Time!'

Where. Do. I. Begin.

Taylor Swift, 19, won the MTV Award for Best Female Video when Kanye West bumrushed the stage, grabbed her microphone and proclaimed, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm going to let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time, one of the best videos of all time!"

Beyonce was stuck in WTF mode, the crowd booed, Kanye was escorted out by security, and his performance was canceled.

Taylor is a gifted and gracious young talent. It took a lot of work for her to get as far as she did in the music business and attain the level of success that she has; then an angry little midget interrupts and embarrasses her. WHY?!

Why does Kanye West care that Beyonce has not won ANOTHER award? Beyonce has picked up dozens of trophies from Destiny's Child and her solo work. Did Kanye have to convey his opinion on live television? Why does he feel that his personal preferences should determine who deserves awards?

Kanye said that he wants to be a better person and do the things that his mother would want him to do, but he has not grown as a person. It's so disturbing to watch a grown man act like a misbehaving child. Sadly Kanye will never live this down. Fans of his music may become just that - fans of his music. The man behind the music does not deserve our respect.

I sold out and I'm commenting on this stupid Kanye incident now. Ugggh. I just love spontaneity, haha!

Anyway, let me say whomever in the minority believes this was staged (like the Eminem/Bruno sequence and other past stunts from MTV) are sorely kidding themselves because MTV would NEVER compromise anyone's acceptance speeches for the sake of TV ratings and satisfying its advertisers.

Given Taylor Swift's 19-year-old age, it would be increasingly insensitive if MTV committed such a staged act, too. They would hear negative feedback, which would be unprecedented from anything such they have received from playing a minimal amount of music videos.

Needless to say, Kanye has certainly felt the backlash of his disrespectful antics from last night. Fewer fans will most likely support his work in the interim, BUT I would place bets that Kanye will still be invited to future award shows.

    Why?

Kanye will always be Kanye, and his appearance at televised events is probably single-handedly a coup for TV ratings. After all, the television/entertainment industry is give-and-take and those involved are practitioners in it ultimately make business-minded decisions at the end of the day.

In summary, Kanye's reputation was tarnished last night (will probably be forgiven by some) but he will still be courted because of his powerful music image on an indefinite basis. All in the name of money. This is really a materalistic world.

And, as they say, "some things change, some stay the same..."
