Miley Cyrus: Christian Protesters Say She's 'Going to Hell'
Jesus freaks hurl "You're going to hell!" at everyone who disagrees with them. It's an ancient threat that thrives in the church. It's kind of like a religious form of "Beyonce had one of the greatest videos of all time!" when you think of it. Heh. Much better than a simple, "You lie!"
Anyway, when Perez Hilton asked Miley Cyrus what she thought about gay marriage Miley tweeted:
• "Everyone deserves to love and be loved and most importantly smile."
• "Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he's gay and that is wrong and very sad!
• "Like I said everyone deserves to be happy."
• "God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving."
• "I am a Christian and I love you - gay or not - because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God's children."
That was enough to send the bible thumpers into a frenzy! Conservative group One Million Moms encouraged people to write Miley to tell her that gay marriage is wrong. Sigh.
Check out the "Christian" protesting below in San Jose, CA, the other day. SMH.

Love is the unconditional acceptance of another person, reguardless of what they do or who they are, and thats the kind of Love that God shares and thats the kind of love that Miley was showing. If we as Christians get in peoples face and show them how ignorant we are to our own faith then people will not want to be Christians and we block the way that we are suppose to be showing them. If we block the way of God then we turn people off to him and they feel trapped. I am not for homosexual rights but im not going to take away someones right of choice when God didnt take away mine.

Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. Leviticus 18:22
Homosexuality is a sin, though Christ does and always will love sinners. We are all sinners. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

She actually has it right,
Luke 19:10 says that "the son of man came to seek and save what was lost"
Matthew 22:39 "Love your neighbor as yourself
If you look at Jesus' ministry he constantly is constantly meeting with people who are looked down on by the Pharisees for being sinner. Jesus went out of his way to help people such as lepers, adulterers, tax collectors and people that others looked on as wrong.
She says that "God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving." and she is right. God's greatest commandment was to love God, and 2nd was to love you neighbors. He didn't say love your neighbors if they are perfect or holy but said love them unconditionally.
Craiggmack said : "As far as I'm concerned, some Christian protesters (it may include them) represent a dangerous extreme, militia-like element in our country, for whom violence is an option for them if they don't get their way or if something(body) doesn't meet their criteria." and I agree. Chr

I live in San Jose, so I was really embarrassed by this video. Perhaps I was naive to believe that people like this were only from the Westboro Baptist Church, and just not found in progressive, tolerant Silicon Valley. We do have our share of conservative churches, but it seems this particular minister likes the limelight a bit more than the rest.

Although I am no fan of Miley Cyrus whatsoever, I think she speaks truth in her tweets! The overarching values of the Christian church preach love, compassion and acceptance of one another, among other things, and those Christian protesters are just defeating the purpose of what they stand for religiously.
However, in keeping with the First Amendment rights of the United States, those protesters still have every right to allow their voices to be heard in a peaceful and orderly fashion regardless of their viewpoints. I'm all for it. But who are they to judge whether Miley is going to Hell or not? They don't, it's an holier-than-thou attitude in which they have no authority to preside over at all!
As far as I'm concerned, some Christian protesters (it may include them) represent a dangerous extreme, militia-like element in our country, for whom violence is an option for them if they don't get their way or if something(body) doesn't meet their criteria.
In fact, it wouldn'
