Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday. He was 57.
The late actor passed away "peacefully" with family at his side. Beating the odds, Patrick was diagnosed 20 months ago. Most pancreatic cancer patients are told they have a few months to live, and Patrick was no exception.
In December 2008, he gave a moving interview to Barbara Walters, which was his final interview. Patrick fought terminal illness with optimism, humility and grace.
We will miss him. RIP.

My great aunt just died of Pancreatic cancer, and her sister died of it several years ago. And they both also outlived their prognosis. But even still, it is such a painful thing to watch, knowing that they are suffering and even with the care of a nurse, it is just knowing that their days are numbered that makes it so hard. Prayers go out to his family.
