President Barack Obama is this years Nobel Peace Prize winner! The news that our fabulous President won the prestigious award was announced this morning in Oslo, Norway.

Obama won the award for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples". So in Snarky terms, he won because he's a lover, not a fighter.

"We are awarding Obama for what he has done. Many other people and leaders and nations have to respond in a positive way" to President Obama's diplomacy.

He's good people. He has appealed to reduce nuclear weapons and would like to restart peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians. He is only the third sitting U.S. President to win the Nobel Peace Prize. The other two Presidential winners were Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Congrats Obama!

I am sorry but this is way to premature. He was nominated like 11 days into his presidency! Give me a break. Someone like Oprah should win over him. Sorry but I just don't get it.

I completely agree with Gyllenhaal. President Obama has made huge strides and should at least be an honorable mention for the time perios he has been in office, but winner, wmmm... errr.. I have to raise one eyebrow and my upper lip to this. Pres. O's passion to ____is what won him this prize not so much "the work" ok I am not giving credit here, Pres. O has "worked" **If this win will help other presidents and ministers of high office to step up and "work" and strategize ways toward "peace and sunshine" across the world and within their country then Hopefully this will challenge global leaders around the world to want a NPP too and for that, I say let the competition begin Muhah! :o)

In awarding President Obama the Nobel Peace Prize, the Norwegian committee is honouring his intentions more than his achievements.

I personally don't believe he should have won the award. Now, if he could get Palestinians and Israelis to end their 60 year battle with each other, I would totally understand why he won it. IMO, he hasn't accomplished anything yet, that would warrant him to win the NPP.

I just wanted to stick with the details and not throw my opinion into the story. I don't want to get too political on a Friday morning. haha!
