Remember when Miley Cyrus did her stripper pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards a really long time ago, like back in August? She's never really explained why she did it, but she does say that "People like controversy because that's what sells," which I guess is her way of justifying her slutty performance.
In the new issue of Harper's Bazaar Miley explains that she's a role model, but that doesn't mean she has to be a parent. You mommas and poppas know your role and should be taking care of your kids yourself!
"My job is to be a role model, and that's what I want to do, but my job isn't to be a parent. My job isn't to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I'm still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes, whether I do or not. That's just life."
So she's right on the whole "I'm a role model" part, but does she forget that when you hold that title, you're going to have kids looking up to you? The last thing any mother wants is her 12-year-old daughter straddling a pole on the swing set at the park and dancing like a whore because she saw Miley do it at the awards show. Kids do make mistakes, but they make fools out of themselves when they look up to someone like Miley and think it's okay to date older men and dress like a whore.

I cant stand the girl but its true. Parents rely on her too much to be a role model to their kids but then she is 17. Thats what Disney does to you I guess.

I feel people are being mean to Miley, I'm not a fan 2 much but her music is good! Shes a teen, she can do w/e! teens like to go through that stage and then maybe, grow out of it. Shes probably just doing it because its fun, and maybe because its whats "in" and lots of girls do it. I don't really know but those are my thoughts.
