Howard Stern: Replacing Simon Cowell On American Idol?
American Idol producers sound like they have the perfect person to take over Simon Cowell's place. Sources tell Page Six they are interested in Howard Stern filling the spot once Simon leaves after this season.

"It's one of the few shows that could compete with Stern's $100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and 'Idol' bosses think he'd be even nastier than Simon. They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants. 'Idol' will do what it takes to sign him."
I've been a Howard Stern fan for years and it would be "great TV" if he became a judge, but Idol is losing focus of what the show is all about. Finding unknown singing talent! I'm an Ellen DeGeneres fan and am glad she's on the show, but she has no musical background and neither does Howard. We could count on him to be an a*shole and rude to a few, and hitting on the hot female contestants, but does he really have what it takes to fill Simon's shoes?

After never watching Idol, then watching solely because of Adam Lambert, and not watching now AFTER Adam Lambert, I honestly believe that no one can top the performances by Adam Lambert and it's just downhill for the Idol show from there. Adam was this pinnacle of amazing talent and it's just hard to beat. I haven't watched Idol since Adam and probably won't, until maybe he's a guest on the show. I am also a big fan of Howard, but I love Howard when he talks about himself. It would be sort of fun to watch him heckle contestants, and I think he'd be good at being honest re: talent. I know that Howard would have recognized Adam's talent, even though he would have razzed him a little. Idol wasn't ready for a winner like Adam, it'll never be ready for Howard as a judge.

This show already is BLAH! I barely watch it now and I am sure I won't watch it ever again regardless who is on the show as a judge. The show has run its course!
