John Mayer has realized the error of his ways and is apologizing a dozen times over about his Playboy interview. He apparently didn't realize using the N word during his interview would upset as many people as it did. WTF was he thinking?

During his concert in Nashville last night, John took a couple of minutes to give a heart felt apology for being an idiot. He told the crowd "In the quest to be clever I completely forgot about the people that I love and that love me."

He also said he thought if he could continue to be "speedy and witty and pull together as many fast words and phrases as I could, that I would be clever enough to buy myself another day without anybody pinning me down and saying, 'You're a creep.'"

"I should have just given that up and played the guitar. I didn't. So I decided I would try to be as clever as possible all the time, and I did that at the expense of people that I love and that feels absolutely terrible."

I love John Mayer but if he thought he could just throw the word aroundand not feel a backlash from it, he's been walking around with his head up his *ss for far too long. Smarten up!
