Kelly Clarkson Defends American Idol, Disses Taylor Swift's Label President
I would prefer to get it tattooed across my ass, but I didn't have time to stop at the shop today so I'll just type out my message instead: TAYLOR SWIFT SUCKS!
Taylor Swift gave an awful performance at this year's Grammys, one that I have no idea what it sounded like cause I fast forwarded it on my DVR, and Taylor has been under attack cause she sounded like vomit. Yep, in other words, Taylor's singing was awful.
Taylor's record label president, Scott Borchetta, defended Taylor by giving the following statement which infuriated Kelly Clarkson. Scott said: ”She is the voice of this generation... This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”
Scott admitted that "maybe" Swift isn't "the best technical singer." But what should matter is that "She’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it.”
Kelly took to her blog to post the following response:
“Wow …..Dear Scott Borchetta: I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why its upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit ‘the high notes’.
Kelly continued, letting Scott know what it takes to compete on American Idol: "You know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well.
Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better..."
Kelly ends her open letter by telling Scott to man up: Instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.

The only people that should get an award are the ones that promoted this untalented sex queen. She can not sing and never will. she stinks. We also know songs are never written by just one person,so quit bragging on her writing experience. And another thing. She is not from Nashville,and nobody likes her in nashville. In fact, Nashville hates her.She will soon be HISTORY,and never remembered except for her horrible singing and great promotion,like FABIAN

Thanks Kelly C....right on the money. Although I agree that sometimes you can have a bad day, Taylor Swift is consistently bad, needs autoune to stay in key and is basically about as good as an average karoake singer. In my opinion, she is not deserving of such prestigious awards yet, and needs to improve tremendously past that teen bubblegum material. Shouldn't even be in the category with singers like Beyonce, and certainly not album of the year(?) it just makes the whole process look like a joke or that it was behind the scenes politics/marketing to get her there. Her and Miley are in the "Best teen album" or something, but not where they are just because of high record sales...GaGa definitely sings and plays very well and should have taken the album of the year award with that many hits. Who the hell is voting??
