We all saw this coming. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Katherine Heigl's character Izzie has been missing on the show, and the actress who plays her has ditched Grey's Anatomy as well.

Heigl had been on leave from the hit show while she tended to her film career as well as her newly- adopted daughter, Naleigh, but was scheduled to resume shooting episodes March 1.

In true diva fashion, Katherine didn't show up on March 1st when she was scheduled to film scenes. Entertainment Weekly says that show creator Shonda Rimes has agreed to release Katherine from her contract. A final exit agreement still needs to be finalized.

It trips me out how T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl have behaved. When I think of NBC's show "Friends," Jennifer Aniston and other cast members pursued films but remained a part of the show. Kat on the other hand doesn't even show up to work on the set of the show that allowed her to win an Emmy award.
