Bethenny Frankel: 'My Mom Hasn't Expressed Interest In Meeting Bryn'

Bethenny Frankel's life may be picture perfect to some, but it hasn't always been that way. Bethenny's father left her and her mother Bernadette Parisella when Bethenny was four, and cut off all ties with her when Bernadette accused him of keeping money from them.

Bernadette remarried when Bethenny was five and moved numerous times over a 10-year period. Bethenny recalls some of the drama she witnessed when she was young. "The house would be in shambles,” Bethenny says of her mom’s vicious outbursts in which she would smash “dishes, pictures, the TV — anything she could see.”

It would get so bad that Bethenny would hide in her closet or call the police to break it up. Her relationship with her mother is not a good one, and in a new interview with Parade magazine, Bethenny expresses her mom isn't interested in meeting her granddaughter Bryn Hoppy.

"My mother hasn’t expressed any interest in meeting Bryn, which was shocking to my husband [Jason Hoppy]. Life is hopefully long, so I don’t know what the future will bring. Right now, I would say no. I only want positive energy around her for as long as possible. Life will be difficult enough before she knows it.”

If Bernadette is going to be negative and express no interest in meeting Bryn, that's her loss. She's missing out on reconnecting with her daughter along with making a connection with Bryn, not to mention all the amazing 'firsts' babies experience in their first year, and the quirky things they do in their toddler years.
