Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe may have filed for bankruptcy and their possession will go up for auction on August 22, but she's keeping her head up. In a new blog on Bravo's website, Teresa explains why they ended up in the position they're in, and working their way out of it.

"Joe and I filed for bankruptcy protection back in October 2009 primarily because of real estate deals gone bad in a bad economy. We didn't spend millions of dollars on gold toilets or private planes. We bought buildings, fixed them up, and tried to help other people start their own businesses or be able to afford an apartment. The economy crash trickled down to everyone."

"We worked so hard for so many years and it was heartbreaking to file, and not something we took lightly. Of course you can't sit in your bed and just cry all day, so we moved forward, got new jobs, and are working hard once again. The point is to get a fresh start so you can move forward."

"All I can do is rise above it, keep my head high, and know that at the end of the day, I have my family, my health, and I'm in God's hands. Nothing else matters, certainly not a lamp."

Going through hard times makes you realize the materialistic things aren't so important. Teresa is a strong woman and will make it through these muddy waters because the tough b*tches always prevail!
