Whoopi Goldberg: 'Mel Gibson Is NOT Racist!'

For those of you who don't know, Firecracker is black and I'm going to be politically incorrect in this post. Read on, but don't say that you haven't been warned.

On today's episode of "The View," the ladies discussed Mel Gibson's audio tape where he tells Oksana Grigorieva "If you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault!" After the audio clip was played, Whoppi Goldberg said, "I don't like what he did here. But, I know Mel and I know he's not a racist. I can't sit and say that he's a racist, having spent time with him in my house with my kids." Goldberg replied.

Does Mel Gibson need to burn a cross on Whoopi's lawn and lynch her kids while painted in black face for her to admit that he's racist?! Based upon the way she's defending him, I think she'd make up an excuse for that behavior too. Whoppi went on to say that drunks say stupid things. It is sad to watch her defend such a vile human being, but I am not surprised. Whoopi has equated the fight for legalized gay marriage to the 400+ year plight of slavery, human rights and civil rights violations inflicted upon black people in this country. Whoopi suffers from a very deep, disturbing complex.

I often blog about how many white guys are "so hot!" and I fail to mention hot black men nearly as much, primarily because this is not a black gossip blog. But make no mistake, I'm a whore who appreciates hot men of all races. In fact, you'd be surprised to know how many black men I've actually dated and had relationships with, but you couldn't detect that based upon some of POTP's posts.

I have teared up every single time someone has told me that they "wanted to be white." I have and always will be proud to be African-American and a moment has yet to go by where I wished that I was white. Black people excel at everything we do, (even committing crimes, ha), and I am very proud of who I am. I'm not a supremacist, but one can not truly be proud of who he or she is when denouncing and demeaning their race, all the while trying to assimilate.

My parents raised me with confidence and they raised me to believe in equality, never mentioning who is light-skinned or dark-skinned, "white devils" or the like. And I don't subscribe to any dark-skinned vs. light-skinned drama that the media tries to hype because you don't see segregation among shades in your everyday black communities.

I am not very light skinned nor am I very dark skinned, and what I have discovered is that the darkest-skinned black people seem to have the most issues with their race. If you notice, in interracial couples with a black man and a woman of another race (this also applies to interracial celebrity couples e.g, Reggie Bush, Eddie Murphy and countless others), the black male tends to be pretty damn dark.

I have also heard the most heartbreaking and disturbing commentary about one's race from dark-skinned black people. It's so pathetic and they look SO ridiculous each time they spew their nonsense. Whoppi Goldberg exemplifies my point. She's dark and has strong African features and she is quick to jump to the defense of a white bigot.

Whoppi has said that she dates white men because they're the ones who hit on her. She's probably bitter. Although, I've dated a lot of white men, every race hits on me and the last thing I would do is defend anyone of any race simply because it's emotionally easier to ignore the truth.

Whoopi doesn't want to say that Mel Gibson is racist, but I'll say it, and so have many others. Whoopi: Go learn some African-American history so you can begin to take pride in who you are, what your people have been through, and why you shouldn't ever excuse prejudice or racism.

Whoopi continues to put her foot in her mouth, NEW posts I've written about this:

@ Peter, You said "one thing i know is that they are smart people who are careful in making decisions." This is news to me and everyone else who knows of this story.

What Mel Gibson said and did had shit to do with "careful" decision making. The same applies to the completely illogical statements Whoopi is making. "Mel's my friend. Drunk people say dumb things, but he wasn't drunk when he said that."... that sounds smart to you? Are you fucking kidding me?

While it remains true that celebrities live different lives, they are still grown adults who know right from wrong. However, Mel says that Oksana "fucking deserved" to have her teeth knocked out and Whoopi has made SEVERAL offensive statements both on and off of The View in regard to African-American issues.

This post is about what she said about Mel Gibson on Monday, but I also have posts about what she said on Tuesday and Wednesday. I've since learned that she designed a sketch where she had her white ex-boyfriend

i came across this page by accident and i like your argument. But you have got to understand that the situation of these super stars are constantly under scrutiny. their mind set shifts from place to place and it must be tough for them. in the end, everything comes down to personality and not race. everybody is racial to a point and its up to us to share those thoughts. its unfair to judge someone so bluntly like you have about goldberg because of one broadcast show. i dont normally reply to things i read on the net but i just want to say that people like mel and whoopi live in a different level of social circles that is more then just about race. they have more relation to eachother then some of the people of their own race.. until we understand them on a personal level who knows what their situations are and what lead them to say such things. one thing i know is that they are smart people who are careful in making decisions

    @smilie lady:
" That is how most whites think....just nowadays they speak it amongst themselves."

That is completely untrue. In a day and age where we have an african-american president, and where interracial relationships no longer cause even a raised eyebrow, I find it sad that you would believe this. Don't paint all whites with the Mel Gibson brush. He is an anomoly, not a representative of all white people. The vast majority of us only care about someone's behavior, not their skin color.

Oh please...I have NOT HEARD OF ANY BLACKS being supportive of this Austrialian Dingo AKA Mel Gibshit.

He is like many white folks saying shit like that to their estranged family members the only difference is...HIS comments were recorded.

I am a black woman and personally it didnt offend me in the slightest because it's not surprising coming from him. LOL. Same thing with "Kramer's" meltdown. Why be shocked? That is how most whites think....just nowadays they speak it amongst themselves.

Bottom line Mel is a racist, whoopi is a predator headed coon with an inferiority complex and non of this is new.

You know, it’s interesting that some of the most supportive comments I have heard about Mel have come from blacks, the very people who many would think should be the angriest at him. On the one hand, I like that we are such a forgiving people, but on the other hand, Whoopi is the same person that defended her ex boyfriend Ted Danson when he roasted her while painted in black face. Its one thing to defend someone you consider to be a friend, but it’s another thing to condone certain behavior. Now, I’m not quick to label every person that uses the n word a racist. To this day, I still don’t believe John Mayer is a racist, but Mel clearly is one and he has serious issues. He is full of anger and hate and it is, quite frankly, scary. The man needs serious help and I hope he seeks it. Perhaps he is bipolar and an alcoholic, but that doesn’t excuse the seething hate in that man’s heart. No one can change Mel’s heart but himself.

  7. PIEFACESKANK

whoopi showed alot of integrity here ...
she could have ran wild with 'mob' ...
she didn't ....& THAT'S cool cause the truth is mel ' ain't a rascist & everyone knows what he means by 'gang of nig's ' ..
if one takes everything out of context , it's easy to paint a person a certain way ..
    so c'mon keep it REALZ..
ya'll look idiotic reporting on this everyday ...
the chick's a golddiggin mailorder skank & WE ALL KNOW IT ..
his mistake that he got involved with such a low class bitch ....
we all know these kinds of bitches ..so STFU.

    @ Firecracker
If that was MY close personal friend... I would sit his ass down and set him straight. I wouldn't even talk about it on my TV show (which is just a bunch of cackling hens picking at each other anyway). I would speak my piece to HIM, and if he didn't even consider what I had to say, I would move on with my life and never look back at a "friendship" with this piece of garbage.

  9. Firecracker

    @ Lisa Marie,

I'm glad Whoopi said what she said cause everyone needs to know that she is full of shit. And Mel isn't racist cause he was in her house with her kids. LMAO!

Whoopi just shrugs her shoulders and says that drunk people say stupid things. Since when has anyone you know been as hateful as Mel while drunk? And then she adds that he wasn't drunk when he said this?! I'm lost.

Whoopi doesn't care that Mel is a sexist, racist, violent pig because she has "a long friendship" with him.

  10. Lisa Marie

Unreal. I have never understood racism because I wasn't taught to be a racist. Unfortunately, this type of behavior towards any race or religion or sex or sexual preference is ridiculous. I have never in my life called anyone a name based on what they are or what they prefer. And I don't understand how ANYONE could defend this type of behavior. This is not the first time that Mel has been "drunk" and said some things that he had to publicly apologize for. On a whole other note- aside from the racial slurs- this is how he is speaking to the MOTHER OF HIS CHILD. Are you kidding me?! Not only is Whoopi African American- she is a WOMAN. You want to defend him and say he's not racist, that's just swell, but to listen to that whole rant is disturbing and to defend that kind of disrespect period is outright disgusting. Absolutely unreal. I would seriously reconsider the people I was publicly defending if I were her... she should have kept her mouth shut.
