    @ Mr. Gyllenhaal & Rachel

Basically Whoopi's saying that because Mel didn't use the N-word in her house, he's free & clear.

We all know racist people. The more comfortable and close you are with someone, the more certain truths emerge. I'm glad you cut the hypocrites loose and you are completely right.

First of all, Mel tells his ex-girlfriend that it is HER FAULT if she gets raped. Second, he hints that "niggers" will be the ones who may rape her. What other proof does Whoopi need? Sad!

I have straight "friends" who say they are my friend and then openly vote against gay marraige. Once I found that out, I basically wrote them off as friends. You can't say stuff like that and begin to even recognize a black human as your equal. He is a disturbed man and a pig. I think there are blacks and whites who are so miserable with themselves they take it out on a different color of skin. Almost all people I know are not like that and have no problem with any skin color; just asshole people and we all know those come in every shade. I think your post was well written and expressed what you wanted to say. I love all mens too and I don't care what shade they are, if they be hot then they get the key to this back door:)

I think Whoppi disagrees with things just to cause and uproar. The View is known for it's controversy. I think a lot of the arguments on this show are staged. They want people to tune in and hear what these crazy b@tches got to say about different topics. But any one with half a brain and a momma can tell that Mel Gibson is a racist. Of course he's gonna hide the white hoods and Hitler literature when Whoopi comes to his house. He may hate black people but he's not an idiot!

    @S-Dawg,

Many African-Americans don't equate the fight to legalize gay marriage with that of what black people have endured for centuries, but I've watched the episode where Whoppi says IT'S THE SAME THING and her co-host Sherri was arguing with her.

Whoopi is a self-hating, Uncle Tom bitch and I mentioned her gay marriage comment because it's another example of her resistance to come to terms with reality as she waters down issues affecting the African-American community.

Round of applause for the soapbox. I agree with everything, but I'm confused about your comment regarding gay marriage. Not sure how that fits into the discussion.

I think Whoopi Goldberg has serious issues, the least of which is her defense of Mel Gibson. She's defended other scum bags before. So I think Whoopi needs to take a few classes to learn how to stop loving assholes.

My 2 cents and sidenote posts are making a comeback, baby. It's been too long.

Thank you. I appreciate the support. :)

    @ Marie,

You worded your stance perfectly and you sum it up with "Her logic astounds me," or lack thereof.

Whoopi is saying because Mel was not racist to her in HER HOUSE, who would be might I add, that he is "NOT A RACIST!" Okay. As you said, Mel is a horrible human being, so even if he isn't racist, WTF is Whoopi's point exactly?

And furthermore, if someone is in close proximity to you or is in YOUR OWN DAMN HOUSE than that person must be a wonderful human being who can't possibly be capable of being racist?

I'm telling you, Whoopi suffers from a complex. It pains her to admit that she was friends with Mel, so she says he's not racist instead. This bitch needs to take a long look in the mirror, educate herself and seek some friggin' counseling. Delusion is scary.

    First off. PREACH IT.

Secondly...Um. Hello Whoopi? Let's think for a second. This person has proven to be a racist, woman hating, ignorant piece of trash who harmed the mother of his child while the kid was present. Lets just go out on a limb and assume he's also a two-faced arsehole who acts one way in public or around friends, but is a pure monster behind the scenes..mmmkay? Being two-faced is the least of his issues. Her logic astounds me. I'm floored that she came out to defend him. FLOORED.

I'm hoping this blackballs Mel from any future work in H'wood. Seriously. Trash isn't even the appropriate word.
