Lady Gaga has dealt with anorexia and binge-eating rumors for as long as she's been famous. However, a new book about Gaga quotes former tour manager, David Ciemny, who claims that Lady G's struggle with her weight is more severe than anyone thought and has taken a serious toll on her health.

The book, Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga features a long interview with Ciemny who talks about Gaga's pre-fame days when, "the pressure on her to lose weight was very high." The book lists some of the more bizarre rumors surrounding Gaga's eating habits, like the all-baby food diet that she supposedly uses to slim down before a tour. However, the most shocking revelation comes from Ciemny who claims that Gaga was hospitalized 6 separate times in 2009 for starving herself.

Given her connection to the fashion industry, it wouldn't be surprising if Gaga engaged in some extreme behavior in order to slim down. Extreme behavior is kinda her thing, after all. It would, however, be disappointing that someone so rebellious and influential as Lady G would cave to the pressure to be sickly thin.

No one else on Gaga's team has come forward to back-up Ciemny's story, but it's not the first time that the state of her health has been questioned. She recently admitted to occasional cocaine use, and rumors swirled following an incident in which she collapsed on stage last March.

Gaga always looks thin, but never scary thin. Here's hoping all the frightening rumors are just a result of haters doing what they do best.
