Kate Winslet and her husband of seven years, director Sam Mendes, split in March and Kate began dating British model Louis Dowler in July. Kate and Louis have gone public with their relationship, and Kate’s friend is speaking to the press about it.

Britain’s Grazia magazine reports that Kate’s friend says their relationship is serious. “As far as Kate is concerned, they could go all the way together – get married, have kids. She’s the happiest we’ve ever seen her, he really brings out a wonderful, carefree side to her that we haven’t seen for years.”
