Jersey Shore Ratings Continue to Skyrocket
Drama is good for ratings? Who knew! Jersey Shore was a hit from the very start, but ratings for season 2 continue to hit record highs.
"Jersey" drew 6.7 million viewers and a 3.4 rating among adults 18-49. That's a higher demo number than anything on broadcast in the hour. If a broadcast network launched "Jersey Shore" this fall and drew this at 10 p.m. on Thursdays with nothing but a repeat for a lead-in, they'd be ecstatic.
Some network television shows pull those numbers. It's amazing that The-Real-World-meets-Jersey-Springer guido fiesta is doing so well. Hearing about how well Jersey Shore is doing makes me hopeful that at least a season 4 of Snooki and The Situation is in the works. Deena Nicole Cortese will be replacing Angelina Pivarnick for season 3, and your favorite Italian Americans return back to Jersey for more fist pumping and, hopefully, many more fights.
In case you missed it, check out my interviews with some of The Shore kids. I can't wait to interview them again. Not only have I become 1000x better on the red carpet since I've interviewed them, but now that we've seen just how crazy the cast is, best believe I have a few dozen scandalous questions for each of 'em.
