Arguably the most liked of the Real Housewives of New York City cast members, besides Bethenny Frankel, is Sonja Morgan. The reality TV star is a broke @ss b!tch now. The Wall Street Journal reports that Sonja filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection today in Manhattan.

Sonja Morgan has one-upped Teresa Giudice, who only owes $11 million. Morgan is in debt to the tune of $19.8 million with over $13.5 million in assets on the bankruptcy petition. In her court papers, Sonja said, “The decision to seek bankruptcy relief was not an easy one, but unfortunately, I am at a crossroads in my life.” I’m gonna use that now when the credit card company calls. “I am at a crossroads” is the new “in between jobs.” 

Sonja says the reason why she’s joined the long list of The Real Broke A*s B!tches from Bravo’s successful franchise is her failed business venture, unresolved divorce, and losing an expensive lawsuit.

Sonja’s production company “Sonja Productions” wanted to make a movie starring John Travolta, but Hannibal Pictures sued Sonja Productions and Hannibal was awarded $7 million. Uh, we are missing so many pieces here. Sounds like lil Miss Wealthy effed up and had to pay for it.

Sonja plans to appeal. She has a daughter by John Adams Morgan, a descendant of J.P. Morgan and John Adams. Sonja and John Adams Morgan used to be married, but their divorce has yet to be finalized.
