Vicki Gunvalson Claims 'Real Housewives of Orange County' Ruined Her Marriage
Vicki Gunvalson has learned the hard way how much tension can be put on your personal life when you're on a hit reality show like 'Real Housewives of Orange County.' In a new interview with CNN, Vicki says when she first started the reality show she and Don "didn't have 90 percent of the problems that we have now and I truly believe it is the show."
"[W]e had a good foundation. We really felt like we could battle it and the reality was I got too busy for him. My business in itself - I have 400 agents and 12 employees and I'm at the office a lot because I was trying to film TV in there and then he felt deflated… the center of my universe was not my husband. I didn't have anything left for him and we grew distant. If I didn't have the show I would have had more time for him. That's the reality."
Although she's putting a lot of blame on a TV show for her marriage going down the crapper, she knows the drama comes with the territory.
“Look there's gonna be divorces and there is gonna be deaths like when Lou Knickerbocker died. We didn't expect that. [T]his is the reality and if you are throwing your life on a reality TV show, you have to be prepared for the consequences."
Vicki sounds like she's quick to blame all of the outside influences that she thinks ruined her marriage instead of just looking at herself. I'm sure the show and stardom has a lot to do with it, but I highly doubt it was the main nail in the coffin.

Vicki comes across as a completely selfish person- Don should thank his lucky stars that she is divorcing him- I feel sorry for her kids as they know what a selfish, self-absorbing person she is

Vicki, the "Reality" is that you are a complete control freak and self-worshiper. You think you know it all and that everyone else is the problem. Take a hard look in the mirror. I hope your money keeps you warm, because if you don's start taking more notice and care with your family your money is all you will have left in the end. Your husband and children will get their own lives and if they are smart "outgrow" you.
Don't blame the show for your ego. If your family means anything to you and you "truly" beleive that the show is destroying your marriage, then QUIT the show!!!
You are a celebrity hog!!!

I don't believe that crap... I think she let the fame get the best of her and her relationship with Don... Why if you are already not having enough time for your husband would you continue with The Real Housewives of Orange County? You would think that your relationship with your husband would be more important than continuing filming?!? I have been married going on 15 years and I would never let friends, family, or anyone come between what my husband and I have... We have been through so much and that is what makes us survive and become that much stronger at what is thrown at us... Don is such a nice and laid back guy and she is just mean to him... She is using work as an excuse cause she don't have feelings for him anymore, and she is using the filming of the show as an excuse... Just own up to it and say you don't love him anymore, and stop using work and work and work as an excuse... I think she will regret it in the long run and realize that when you are 80 years old and can't wor

The Real Housewives of Orange County has been on for a LONG TIME. When Vicki started the show, there weren't THAT many couples, especially couples that weren't famous, that broke up post-reality show.
I think fame ruins a lot of things, so I'll just go ahead and side with her based upon that.
