Lauren Alaina and Scott McCreery Are The American Idol Finalists!

It was a long season full of surprising twists and shocking eliminations, but the American Idol top two have finally been chosen: Scott McCreery and Lauren Alaina will duke it out for the biggest prize in reality TV!

Haley Reinhart, who frequently ranked well with the judges (particularly Steven Tyler...gross) was unexpectedly sent home, but brought down the house with her final performance, providing a unique take on Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets." Haley turned to the camera at the end of the performance with a promise to the fans who kept her on til the final three, saying, "This ain't over, see you later."

The match-up of Scott and Lauren will be an interesting one, as it will not only be the youngest finale in Idol history, but the two are said to have formed a close friendship over the course of the season.
