Amy Winehouse Dead at 27
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment this morning. She was 27 years old.
No official cause of death has been released yet, but Amy's struggles with substance abuse have been well documented, leading many to speculate that her death was in some way a result of her addictions.
Ambulances arrived at Amy's house around 4 this morning and were unable to revive her. They currently describe the death as "unexplained."
On a personal note, I was always a huge fan of Amy's and had hoped to some day see her perform live. Obviously, that day will never come. While her death may not have been entirely unexpected, losing such an enormous talent at such a young age is always tragic. RIP, Amy Winehouse.

I have to say that I have never read such hateful words as on this blog about Amy Winehouse. You ppl say she was ugly, disgusting, never shower, crackhead. You made fun of her skin desease, eating disorder, addiction, husband, nose, eyes, boobs, hair (disgusting hair, things grow there and so on), hygiene, mental illness, how she can still walk and be alive and do I need to go on?
You should all feel ashamed of yourselves. You live to ridicule people and you think it doesn´t matter. I wonder if someone you love would suffer from addiction would you make fun of them and chase them towards death too? Would you piss at their grave?
You are ugly on the inside and I feel sorry for your friends and family to have such hateful persons close to them. I bet they cry when they are alone. Would you sneek up and take a picture of them crying, put it here and write that they are ugly, never shower, smells bad and dont deserve anything good in their life?
RIP Amy Winehouse you were beautiful an

To all the haters - the post on which you're commenting doesn't say a single negative thing about Amy. Not only was I a fan (as I stated), but I've lost friends to alcoholism and drug addiction in the past, so I know firsthand the pain that her family is experiencing right now, and I would never make light of it. By digging up JOKING comments that I and other POTP writers have made in the past, you are choosing to focus on the negative. Amy was immensely talented, but she was also frequently a mess. There's no denying that. She was open about her substance abuse; it was a part of her public persona. Because we endeavor to report honestly about celebrities on this site, not mentioning the fact that Amy was clearly an addict would be tantamount to ignoring the fact that Lady Gaga wears unusual clothing. If you want your celebrity news sugar-coated, look elsewhere. Most people prefer the truth. Most adults have lost someone close to them, and know what a difficult experience it is to endu

Congrats to all those who have never said anything bad about anyone else at any point in their life, ever.

No, Aaron, the trashing didn't help. It's the ole "build 'em up to tear 'em down" mentality. It's easy to kick someone when they're down.Anyway, I hope Amy finally finds some peace now.

I'll never forget the first time i heard rehab, I was in a hardware store in Omaha, Ne. At first i didnt pay much attn. but being an addict myself the word rehab caught my ear and didnt seem to fit the type of music. Anyway I listen to everything from Hank Williams Sr. to Eminem. Fortunatley im capable of an open mind but this chick had a voice like id never heard and immediatley went on the ipod. And the trash those ppl. write may sell, but it damn sure didnt help anyone, especially Amy. Rip Amy. And Yall are Douchebags.

I admit that I can't relate to addiction, so I have no idea what goes through the mind of an addict or what brings them to that place. All I know is that Amy seemed to me to be a bit of a tortured soul. I think there was definitely some pain there. You heard it in her voice and saw it in her eyes. Ultimately, she was not a happy person and that's what's truly sad about all of this.Sure the press trashed her. That's what sells, but at the end of the day, there was no denying her talent. No denying that voice. Some people go through their whole lives mediocre and never accomplish anything great. But Amy,before the age of 25, wrote the epic Back to Black, a genius record. That's what she left behind. That's her legacy and that's something her family can be proud of no matter what anyone has to say about Amy.

@ Veronica,
Lil Payne has been writing for this site for 1 year, I have been writing for this site for 5 years. Snarky, another POTP writer, and I are behind the stories you're referring to.
Lil Payne did not write posts dated prior to 2010.
What does one having kids have to do with a blogger's right to express themselves?! Why are you telling us that Amy "was gifted with musical talent"? All of our writers are fans of hers.
Amy was a trainwreck and her addiction led to her death. We are very sad to see her go, but I don't feel any remorse for saying anything that I've said about her. I just wish she would have listened to those around her who tried to help her. She'd still be here today if she did.

@Gwen - I TOTALLY feel you on your comment. I just went searching for an article of Amy's death and came across this website for the first time.
Lil Payne - if you don't have children yet, you better start praying. If you do have kids, start praying. Amy was someone's child in a lot of pain who happened to have an addiction problem and who was gifted with musical talent. I mean how do you really feel about everything you've posted about her all these years?? You have a knack for writing, use it for good. Don't use it to tear people down.

Amy wasn't supposed to go out like this, man. Damn... :(
I thought she was getting it together and I was so looking forward to her next record . It was sure to be epic because she was amazing. Sadly, it just wasn't meant to be. RIP, Amy. :(
