Demi Lovato On Recovery: "I'm Going To Mess Up. I'm Not Going To Be Perfect"
Demi Lovato has dealt with her fair share of struggles and sought treatment for "emotional and physical issues" late last year, but she's determined to stay strong and fight the battle head on. Demi says she has come a long way since her three-month stay for her battle with anorexia, bulimia, self-mutilation, and bipolar disorder.
In an interview with People, Demi admits she's going to mess up and she's "not going to be perfect" but as long as she tries to better herself every day, she's a step ahead of where she was before. She says her issues stem from her childhood and not from being a young celebrity and says "They are issues that every girl deals with" including self mutilations.
"Cutting has become so common with so many girls, and in almost every family, people have tried it or experimented with it."
Still, she admits being in the spotlight "doesn't make it easier being in front of the cameras whle I'm trying to recover from an eating disorder."
It's her passion for what she does that keeps her motivated to stay on the right track.
"I thought, 'Music is something that keeps me healthy and that has saved my life at one point. I love it, and I'm not going to give it up."
Having a hotty like Ryan Phillippe by her side must help keep her on track too.
Keep on keeping on, Demi!
