Jersey Shore Cast Escapes Hurricane Irene

I know this was the first thing that was on your mind when you heard about Hurricane Irene, but you don’t need to worry any longer. While the Jersey Shore may have suffered significant damage as a result of the storm, the cast members of the Jersey Shore are all safe and sound. Phew!

As airlines began canceling flights to and from the East Coast before Irene hit, stranding us normal, un-orange folk, the cast was escorted out of the greater New York area by MTV in a private jet just in time for the VMAs.

Vinny Guadagnino explained that they were determined to make it to Los Angeles in time. “We had to get out here for the VMAs. MTV did whatever they could to get us out here. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Pauly D, on the other hand, took the opportunity to make a Hurricane Irene joke (which he later said he just made because he was “nervous”). He told MTV News, “Irene got nothing on my blowout.” Which, to his credit, is a pretty legitimate point.  That thing doesn’t move, ever.
