So once you get over the fact that Avril Lavigne is actually having a fashion show for her Hot Topic-lite (yes, that’s saying something) clothing line, Abbey Dawn, you can then process the information that Kylie Jenner will be walking in it too. Yep…let that all sink in for a little bit. Doesn’t it just sound tragically awful?
The teenager will make her runway debut Monday at the Abbey Dawn by Avril Lavigne show…The high schooler got the nod thanks to her stepbrother, Brody Jenner, whose is Lavigne’s boyfriend.
People are causing a big stink, not because of the blatant nepotism, but because the Council of Fashion Designers of America imposed a 16-year age minimum for runway models earlier this year. Kylie, who is fourteen, fails to meet the age cut.
Honestly, I just think everyone should just chill the eff off. For one thing, can a celebrity clothing line “designed” by Avril Lavigne seriously fall under this category? Like, of fashion. Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Second, walking in one show–and not even the high fashion kind where multiple nipples (psh, models don’t have boobs) are bound to slip out in a fifteen minute period–ain’t going to kill her. In fact, I’m going to take the controversial view that Kylie Jenner is actually doing herself a detriment by walking in Avril’s tween-angst fashion show. She’s too pretty for that shiz.
