Jionni LaValle: Concerned Boyfriend or Controlling Jerk?

Thanks to our finely-tuned gay-dar, we were among the first to suggest that Snooki's boyfriend, Jionni LaValle, might belong to the rare species known as the "gay-do" (gay guido). The jury is still out on that, and its unlikely that Snooki will ever come out and confess that Jionni will only have sex with her if she wears a Pauly D blow-out wig. But while Jionni's sexuality may remain in question, there's one thing about which we have little doubt: dude is a world-class d-bag.

Snooki is a world-famous millionaire simply because she's a crude hard-drinking loud-mouthed guidette. Jionni doesn't like that, and he's not shy about telling her in the harshest terms possible. Dude apparently got into this relationship having never watched an episode of Jersey Shore or, for that matter, actually spoken to Snooki. He's shocked and disgusted every time she gets drunk, comments on his "Italian sausage," or burps into the phone. You may not want the person you're dating to do too much of any of those things, but you're not dating Snooki.

Snook's roommates, especially JWoww and Ronnie, have expressed their concern and even gone so far as to stage an anti-Jionni intervention. That may seem extreme, given that the guy is only trying to rid Snickers of some of her more unsavory habits. From the perspective of her cast mates, however, he's trying to shame their friend for some of her defining characteristics, the very qualities that helped make her a reality TV icon. Trying to change some things about the person you're dating is always a losing battle; trying to change everything about the person you're dating is just a dick move. Hopefully, Snooks gets her fill of Jionni's Italian sausage when he visits the Florence house next week. We'd like to see her move on and do some international smushing.
